What are you reading?

"Time's Last Gift" by Philip Jose Farmer. It's a time travel story about a group of scientists who travel back in time to study early man as he lived in a more or less nomadic state in Europe. I read it before, a long time ago, as a somewhat shorter novella, but this version was expanded about 75% by Farmer a few years after the original publication.

Oh, you meant an actual book? Something called The Pilo Family Circus, that I've been reading for a few months. I have to keep stopping, cause it's so creepy and gross and just super scary 😀
 
Listening to: "Addicted to Outrage" - Glenn Beck, it's good, I didn't read the subtitle though "How Thinking Like a Recovering Addict Can Heal the Country" so I wasn't prepared for how US focused it'd be. There's still good stuff in there, but I might not finish it.

Reading: "In the first circle " Aleksandr Solzhenitzyn, nothing but love.

Are you enjoying re-reading them? When I did it this summer I found it so easy going at first, because the books are so short, then suddenly they're brick sized, lol.

I am, I'm on Goblet of Fire now, which is where I usually stop in my rereads, because as you say they do get rather large. I'm still seeing bits that I hadn't noticed before. I always thought Cedric was in his final year, but actually he was only a sixth year.

I made it through the Half-Blood Prince this re-read, but haven't gotten into book 7 yet. Let me know when you get there!
An Uncommon Woman. So far she is the most common woman I have ever read about. Its a bit of a struggle cos it is so boring but I'll give the next section a go before I return it. I was hopeful it would be interesting but its a disjointed story of second hand memories and war history.
 
Wild Swans, Three Daughters of China. Long but very immersive, and Murakami's What I Talk About When I Talk About Running ..
 
The Girls' Guide To Hunting And Fishing

One of those fervently occurring browsing titles that gets your attention, so I picked it up this time (reviews are good, say its nothing like Bridgett Jones diary)

I read a short one I liked in which Edward & Jacob ran away together as gay lovers while commiserating on what a whiny, childish, entitled aggravation that Bella was. :-D
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson - This has been on my list of things to read for what feels like forever. So far so good 🙂
 
I just finished Kindred by Octavia Butler and listening to Good Omens on audiobook.

Right now I'm reading The Hate U Give and listening to What If? on audiobook (read by Will Wheaton). I took a break from Cibola Burn (4th book in The Expanse series) because I'm reading The Hate U Give for a book club. As long as I stay ahead of The Expanse tv series I'm ok lol.

I recently discovered audiobooks (what was I waiting for???) and I have listened to Trevor Noah read his Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood and Carrie Fisher read The Princess Diarist.

Another fantasy book I read recently that I cannot recommend highly enough is The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty. The sequel is coming out in January. It is so fabulous I can't even tell you!!
