What are you scared of?

That's it...I'm going to take a poll of WHAT it is that makes people afraid of clowns. So many people have a fear of them and I want to know why exactly. I know for me it's because I don't know who is really under that make-up. That and the faces just look pretty evil most of the time. It's almost a fear on a supernatural level...
 
It was because of the movie Poltergeist! The part where the clown takes that kid under the bed. Ohmigod! Also Killer Clowns from Outerspace or something like that. They shoot popcorn at people and take them to their giant tent and cocoon them. Yuck!

I think that movies/society has bred that fear in many of us. (among many other things)
 
Yes. Yes, so very true, And thank you for mentioning that Poltergeist thing! THAT was one of those things that requires some therepy after seeing when your little. *shudders*
 
haha I was watching the tom green show the other day (normally don't, honest) and tyrese - the rapper was on there, and he's absolutely petrified of owls, he can't even look at a drawing of one!!
 
Snakes, ugh, shudder, bloody snakes. I only have to see one on TV and I'm hiding my face. My grandson thinks its hilarious, little monster! Too many Aussie wildlife experts on at the moment for my taste.

Oh, and most medical stuff leaves me cold - especially injections and blood (that's another thing I have to hide from if it's on telly - "Casualty" and "Holby City" (medical dramas in the UK - kinda like "ER" on downers) are not my favourite shows given their graphic depictions of some procedures - I know it's all make-up and prosthetics but ugh! 🙂)
 
Clowns: For me it was a movie where mental patients escaped a mental insitution and killed some clowns and dressed up as them and went on a killing rampage.........forgotten the movie name probably Evil Clowns or something.
And in IT.....that clothes line scene when clown is not there and then there........HORRIBLE!! I'm going to have nightmares tonight.

Mr Pointy i'm with you on the blood thing and hospitals are yucky, I have panic attacks when i go to hospitals. Even just visiting someone. And once i bite my tongue really badly blood was going everywhere and i went completely hysterical, screaming and stuff but not cause it hurt but because of the blood.
 
Yeah,i hate hospitals- *shivers* -probably cos Killed By Death in season 2 gave me the wiggins!!!
 
Apart from spiders......The people I love dying!!Sorry for the seriousness of that!!My death doesn't scare me at all,but the people I love dying........::crying2: I always get tears in my eyes thinking about that......

know wot u mean, scary aint it as serious as it is.

I am scared of haunted houses, they are horrible and i dont like them, there's one in blackpool and there's a section wherre the floor is made of sponge and it feels like you're walking on brains!
 
okay, so I flicked over to the tom green show again JUST now, (i swear i don't watch it) David Boreanaz was on it, he is really scared of chickens... Tom Green says soooo what would you do if I put this here? *puts egg on the table*
David picked up his pint of beer and splatted the egg (it went all over him).
then tom green gives him a chicken leg.. and he dipped it in the beer and ate it.... (?)
then tom green gave him a roast chicken, and h ran up to it, and jumped on it with his arse...

So okay that was wierd.
 
umm can't remember if i posted in this thread or not, so i'll just post again! I'm afriad of death, the whole idea really scares me. also I'm afriad of drowing, burning and tornadoes. Wow, i really sounds paranoid after listing all those things....lol
