I liked the plot of "Beneath" the least (though I would say "Battle" was the most plodding). It focused on a secret human remnant, which seemed odd because we are most interested in the ape society. Heston's part did seem unnecessary. I think the ending was hammering home the point that humans are self-destructive and not good caretakers of the planet, but I don't know if that's original anymore!

Caesar is born at the end of "Escape", in which he is actually named Milo(!). But he has a name change and becomes the main character in the last two, played by Roddy McDowell, who also played his father, Cornelius. "Conquest" and "Battle" equate somewhat to the rebooted trilogy.

I've seen at least two of those, and thought they were very well done. Not taking anything away from Andy Serkis, but the availability of CGI makes things a little easier!

Iceman (Der Mann aus dem Eis): I really thought this was a well-done, fascinating movie, a fictional story about Otzi, the 5300-year-old mummy found in Alps in 1991. I always love a period drama, and how many do you see from the Copper Age? Bonus points for using an ancient Etruscan-related language! And it was just an engrossing plot.
 
Preacher S01: I've been recommended this show on numerous occasions and have put it off till now because of the tittle.... just as don't judge a book by its cover, don't judge a show by its tittle.

It's darkly funny, engaging and out of the norm,
 
The High Note - 7

Tracee Ellis Ross plays an established singer with Dakota Johnson as her busy personal assistant who would rather be a producer. She starts producing an album for a man she knows while somewhat neglecting her job as a personal assistant But things go well for all of them - I won't give it away because you can watch it on YouTube.
