I started the Outsider series by HBO. I also started the audiobook read by the fantastic Will Patton. I had forgotten how good this book was! 🙂

Skanky Vamp

Rings Of Power. Officially glossy, hollow and kinda crap. The dialogue especially is dire almost to the point of parody. It makes The Hobbit films feel substantive.
The other thing that I never thought of and someone mentioned recently. The first season of Rings of Power has the same runtime of the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy. Compare and contrast that. It really highlights the problems the show has.

For me it mostly came down to the characters. I could complain endlessly about the terrible pacing, the CGI crowds, the boring actions scenes and the broken world-building...but its mainly the fact that I can't tell you that much about the original characters; they're completely forgettable.

I do wish 'Galadriel' was forgettable but everything about her is...sort-of uniquely awful. She is one of the worst 'strong female protagonists' I've witnessed in quite a while.
Completely re-contextualizes her scene in Fellowship though, when she's alone with Frodo and the ring...

Alternating between Madame Secretary, Andor, movie/show trailers, Rick Steves' Europe & react videos 😳

I MIGHT have given it a chance had I not already heard too much from those who seen it (yes, I know it's a comedy, but as I'd expect of modern Disney, fails at it) AND given the Honest Trailer alternative title: Law & Ogre: Super Victims Unit
Still Alaskan Bush People. Their horsemanship is a comedy of errors. Animals are so forgiving. Although they do make me realise I follow the rules far too much. This family is like hey lets do this outrageous thing and they go and do the thing without doing it the "right" way at all, but at least they do the thing. Better than not doing anything

Oh that ending was terrible lol

That seems to be a common complaint. I.e. it would’ve been better as a 2 hours movie than a drawn out series.

Frankly the irl story of the Watcher doesn’t have a whole lot to go off of either, so I’m not sure why they opted for a show on this one.
