Watching first season of Shining Vale and really enjoying it. Fantastic black comedy trust on the supernatural show. Strong cast too.

End of LOST

This final was unexpected. I have mixed feelings. It was good but not perfect. There were a lot of emotions in this episode, a lot of religious symbolism, and a lot of references at the first episode. I think it has on me the same effect the Angel finale had.. I like that end but I need time to appreciate it more šŸ™‚, need time to make up my mind and to surpassed a little bit of frustration because the show is over.

Let’s talk what happened on the first reality : The island !

Jack becomes the new guardian but just for a brief moment. His moves are smart. He let the false Locke turn off the light of the cavern knowing perfectly this would have the effect to makes the shadow vulnerable. Really that was smart ! The fight was epic šŸ˜‰. Like a gladiator battle. Theses mens were fighting like bulls and at the end it’s Kate that wins 😌. Yeah good job Girl ! Badass moment. Bye bye the monster, he is dead on the island where he belongs. Jack is also dead on the island. And I really love the final shot of the show, just focus on Jack closing his eye šŸ‘. That is honestly the best finale image I have seen to put an end to a show.
The character of Jack has changed. He died for a thing he believes in but wasn’t sure of. During the show he was always the men that needed proof, that doesn’t believe, a man of science and there he died, he gave his life for things in which he believed but he had no evidence of anything. Good evolution. In a way there was only him to do this sacrifice, that was his moment !

Hugo becomes the new guardian after Jack’s death. I also appreciate they give this character more responsibility. I often had the feelings during the show that the writers didn’t know what to do with him or that he was a side character just following the main character. The last season he was more important and honestly I like this character so I’m happy they give him this role to protect the island. According to Linus, the good number 2, Hugo was a good number 1 šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚.

Kate, Claire, Sawyer and others leave the island and I leave that island with them but with a lot of questions in my head. There are obviously still so much mystery about this island, I prepared myself to this, I knew that this final episode won’t respond to every questions I had but still I have a frustration šŸ˜—. But I really need to do a rewatch because I’m sure I missed things.. Lost is definitely not the kind of show where I get to understand everything on the first watch. And I wasn’t paying so much attention sometimes, my bad !

Let’s now talk about the other reality :

They clearly bet on the emotional part here because there were heartbroken moments on that reality. They bring back character, show memories, each time a character remembered their time passed on the island the revelations were so emotional. The nostalgia also was very fondamental and strong. That’s cool they succeeded to bring back so much ancient actors and actresses. So that’s clearly for me despite there was less actions the most intense part of this final episode. If I have understood they are all dead in this reality. They were living a life that was false. I think this other reality is like a safe space where they were all waiting for each other.. they were waiting for each of them to die in the real reality and to come here to all go somewhere… maybe in paradise. Somehow this reality was their purgatory. They were linked all thoses people between them, they cannot move on without everyone. I think this is tragic and magnificent at the same time. It’s very poetic and symbolic. I’m glad everyone was capable to find a way to their true love : Jim and Sun, Jack with Kate, Sawyer/Juliet, Hugo/Lybie, Desmond and his wife, Charlie and Claire… they find peace !
Only Benjamin Linus doesn’t want to enter in the church.. so that seems to indicate he is still not in peace, he is still not ready to move on.. his daughter wasn’t with him I noticed that’s sad šŸ˜ž.

I want to finish this review with my ranking of favorites character 😁 :
- Jim and Sun
-Sawyer
-Juliette
-Jack
-Locke
-Kate
-Hugo
-Benjamin Linus

Thanks Lost, that was a good adventure šŸ˜‰.

Team Hugo! I loved that scene where he made Ben his #2.
Mayfair Witches S1.
I was never as into this book series as much as Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, but I liked this show a lot more than the IwtV TV series.

Of Mice & Men (1992)
I've never heard of this, but I'm going to look for it, as it's hard to imagine John Malkovich playing Lenny!
