Scream 3 (2000) I think many things coincided to hamstring this one; Neve Campbell having limited filming time, the lack of Kevin Williamson, the insistence on 'more comedy' over actual frights due to studio interference.
The two things that always bothered me about this, overall, where the 1 killer reveal which caused a logic-fail for a few scenes in the movie previously and the silly 'voice intimidation' device which was just cheap and lazy way to create twists.
I saw a very convincing YouTube vid that said there are many onscreen clues pointing to there actually being a second killer- that character being the actress playing Sydney- which does forgive some of the films shortcomings.
Overall its fun, with good use of location and a killer whose motives reframe es the first movie in a way that ties the trilogy together. Also I think the commentary foreshadowing a lot of the grossness that was exposed in Hollywood later down the line is a plus in the films favour. Overall its a decent watch and not as bad as I remember, certainly not in the league of the first two.
It still would be the weakest entry in the franchise, if not for Scream 6 existing.
