So, you've met someone who seems to really like you a lot. But there's something about them that drives you totally nuts. What is it?

For me, dreads are a total turn-off. I mean seriously, yuck. 😝 And beards!

What about you?

I actually love well kept beards (those fad beards-loafs some hipster men are sporting these days aren't really my thing, however). Dreads in white people are a turn off. They're not a particular turn on on black folks, but they don't look weird.
If they love spiders enough to keep them as pets.

I hate spiders (more than I hate Kennedy and Clara from Doctor Who which tells you just how much I hate them), and I think it would be unfair to make a bloke choose between me and his beloved pets. However, I would be paranoid that a spider has escaped without him realising and stowed away in his coat pocket or something and then it'll be near me or escape into my home and lay eggs somewhere that hatch into little spiders. Basically if a guy has a pet spider, he is a no go.

What I want is a guy who doesn't mind spiders so he can get rid of any that come into my home (especially the really fast ones that are the Usain Bolts of the spider world and are bloody huge), but doesn't love them so he won't want to keep them as pets. Woe betide any bloke that throws a spider at me, I'd kick him to the kerb so hard, his feet won't even touch the ground.

I like spiders well enough; some of the are very beautiful, but I draw the line at ANY exotic pets reptiles, spiders, anything besides dogs, cats and maybe fish. IS NOT A PET. Birds are gorgeous, but best free. Weird pets is a sign of oddness...
Biggest turn off is if she never watched Buffy obviously....

It turns me off if she cares about her looks too much or too little. Bad hygiene too.
I am tall so it is a turn off if she is really short.
Turns me off if she does any drugs or similar illegal activities, that's a big no.
Turns me off if she doesn't read atleast sometimes.
Turns me off if she drinks on a regular basis.
Turns me off if she watches reality shows or likes politics.
Turns me off if she is acting like a child and avoids any responsibility.
Really turns me off if she plays cold-warm or any other type of a mindgame.
Turns me off if she isn't kinda "geeky".
Turns me off if she buys expensive stuff or clothing just because of the brand name.

That's quite a list, no wonder i am single.

Yeah, Buffy hate is a HUGE turn off. not into fashion plates or slobs either.
If he has no feelings
Poor hygiene
If he talks too much
Too serious
If hes arrogant or ignorant
If he has no ambitions, goals or interests.

Inability to live up to commitments.

I had a girlfriend once who was an X-ray technician at a local hospital and part of her employment contract was to answer the phone and be on call when they needed her. She taught me what it was like to never answer a phone (at that time they had no way to show who was calling). I eventually could never get hold of her on the phone because she thought it could be the hospital. I don't think she would have made a good wife because she had a demonstrated history of not living up to agreements.

That plus she was weird. When you are weird by my standards, you are exceptionally weird.

You don't like people who are humble?
For someone much less prone to dating than others, I have remarkably few turnoffs (though at the same time, very little interest in dating anyway). Don't be smothering (or prone to jealousy), don't be habitually rude without just cause (that includes to strangers), and don't play mind games (gaslighting, frequent guilt trips or pity seeking, trying to make me figure out what you're fishing for or trying to manipulate a reaction rather than being open about your desires, etc) and I'm pretty easygoing and prone to overlooking flaws. As just one example, I'm a nonsmoker who even overlooks smoking (as long as they don't cause damage, or have a habit of making a big mess over it, or seeing them being too belligerently rude about it too many times).

Though if someone talks about how the world (parents, school, jobs, past lovers, etc) screwed them over throughout their entire life then I'm sure I'll become yet another example in that person's mind and so distance myself pretty fast.

I wasn't going mention religion but ^^ did. Any long term option MUST believe in a creator/god. Doesn't have to be in a specific practicing religion but MUST acknowledge the creation of the universe, and appreciate its beauty as designed.

I've dated only atheists and agnostics, except for one girl, who is a fundamentalist christian, and who also happens to be the one I am the most nostalgic about and the only one I keep in regular touch with. So, on theism, I swing both ways.

No order to my list I guess.. if anything the bold ones are the most important.

Main stream religious
tory
arrogant
lack of humour
under 6ft (for a man)
no geek/nerd qualities (lol)
violent
drunk
druggie
poor personal hygiene
abusive
not accepting of my Abbs and wants more kids (no thanks)
not good with kids
not understanding of my situation

I could go on and on.... now I'm older I'm less accepting of crap and won't tolerate certain things in a partner

If they're too much like me that's a pet peeve, because I need guys to take me out of my comfort zone and challenge me to do things that I normally wouldn't do in order to achieve growth. I am not a fan of stasis, the happiest moments in my life always were moments in which I did something that I never thought I'd ever do or tried something new that I never heard of, thus I need to date someone who I can go into many directions with - not someone who is content with just doing the same things over and over again.

Big no to guys who are racist or have beliefs and opinions about people from different groups that are based in stereotypes, fear and hostility. I want a partner with an open heart and mind towards people from other backgrounds.

I am also more attracted to guys that look a certain way and strangely means that I'm not too much into people who look too much like me, blonde, overly pale/white, I kinda prefer the opposite and I am more into the 'darker' types..

Guess I should add nothing illegal (even if their illegal practice is something I'm fine with personally, I just have enough problems as it is without begging for more through a habit of breaking the law, especially if it involves prohibited drugs which is like an obsession for many law enforcers). That definitely includes abuse and stalking (which can also fall under smothering and unjustly rude taken to an extreme), track marks, and the like.

Perhaps it's also worth noting that while I'm easygoing, I'm well aware I alienate many. Which means that they'd have to be fairly easygoing themselves (though they can have odd and even extreme beliefs as long as they also have a sense of humor about it and don't demand I become a cog in the machine of their pet cause or religion), and not many people are.

Still, I've never had to go to bars and clubs or post ads or profiles to get dates, people pursue me all the time, even when they shouldn't, and some of them have a good idea what I'm like. I was in a close relationship with a girlfriend for 5 years before the one I'm in now (and knew her for 2-3 years before that, so she knew what she was getting into), and after we broke up many who knew me were trying to snatch me up almost immediately. So I don't really care that a great many people couldn't stand me, though my other non-dating interests (and, until recently anyway, my low sex drive) also helped me to not care. (For that matter, there's plenty of people I wouldn't personally date but can still like them and wish them well, and might even be tempted to match them with someone else.)

Interesting enough, every partner (and I'm including the guys I dated in my youth) I've ever had has been very different from everyone else I ever dated seriously. That is, I don't have a type. If anything, when I wind up with someone new, I want it to be an experience I haven't had before rather than being attracted to a certain kind of person.

I think I see what you did there. If you weren't doing it - take credit for it (it's very clever). 🙂

Hairy/unnecessary hair (girls & guys)
has kids
overly happy
rude/mean
conservative
prejudiced

Mainly dislike people who are prejudiced or close-minded. Aside from that, it would not really matter if it was a long-term relationship. Everyone has flaws so you will have to accept them and deal with them if you plan on staying with them. 😛

As soon as a guy uses "but I love you" to manipulate me out of me time/me space. (Especially when I have only known them for a week). Your obsession is not my problem. Go away.

Actually everyone who shows interest right now is told to go away. Horny men are so lame and all the same. Dont believe the lies, single life is best life. I duno why more people dont enjoy it, Freeeedooommmm!
