What are your fears ?

Drowning is my number one fear. I can't swim and I'm terrified of deep water. (I almost drowned when I was 11) Obviously, I'll never go on a cruise.

Also all reptiles, large insects, and for some reason, pigeons and sunflowers. Yes, I'm serious. Sunflowers really creep me out; it's like they stare at you. And pigeons are just...disturbing.

Something tells me, that @Mr. Pole enjoys this thread a lot 🙂

I am infertile (that sounds rather harsh though .... isn`t there a nicer way to say it ? ) and it doesn`t mean, you couldn`t be a mother. Don`t worry about that. There a many ways to motherhood.

I'm also infertile (barren?) but luckily I have zero interest in becoming a mother or having children. My grandma couldn't conceive but had a beautiful daughter - my mother!

I am terrified of spiders. And live in Australia. Sigh.

If I'm scrolling through Facebook and there is a pic of a spider I jump out of my skin and it feels like I've been electrocuted.

About 10 years ago I woke up with a hangover and had to take a shower before work. There was a huntsman spider the size of a large mans hand just chilling in there. I called my mate from half an hour away and made him drive all the way over to kill it. The next day a second one was in there. I still feel sick about it. I flat out refuse to go camping because I'm terrified I'll wake up with one on me.

Spiders could be worse. They could be the Grimslaw demons from "Selfless":

I think if I lived down there my house would be shot the hell up. I mean, honestly, I would shoot the bugger. Something like this...

Yeah. Shoot it. Burn it with fire. Friggin move to an inhabitable continent.

Easy fix, wear thongs and check under the seat before you sit 😛

These ones are not so easy fixes...
Thirsty snakes slither into Australian toilets as dry season bites

James Cook University reptile expert Professor Lin Schwarzkopf said it wasn’t usual for snakes to go into toilets.

She said they liked moist places with objects to hide under but had become more bold in the search for water during a dry breeding season.

“They can fit in under doors,” she said. “There’s not much you can do.”
Python in toilet bites Thai man on penis

A man in Thailand has prised a large python off his genitals after it bit him while he sat on a toilet.

Also that might be a toilet in a dolls house
Try to imagine size of spider on a doll house toilet, then work out hoe the spider got there

Losing my Daughter. Everything else I just don't like, makes my skin crawl and yes I'd scream like a girl.... (snakes, spiders, frogs, fish)

Losing my Daughter.
I haven't children but once my mother told that there is nothing worse for a parents than losing a child.
she said that losing a parent was painful, as a loss must be, but it is in the natural order of things, a mother / father must leave before the children, that's how it should be happen.

Right now I fear I have given myself hay fever by not replacing the pollen filter in my car... I never used to get hay fever but the last 2 times Ive driven, Ive been sniffly for days after 🙁 I haven't driven for 5 days and my eyes are still streaming. Or maybe I just don't cry enough anymore. Kinda like soap actors, who need to cry on their days off, their bodies are so accustomed to producing tears.

I've got a fear of dying from lack of oxygen, ie, drowning, choking, being murdered in some brutal slow chokehold or whatever.

I hate snakes with a passion. Was close to being bitten by a Tiger snake when I was 18. Snakes have claimed the lives of two of my dogs.

If we're talking about irrational ones, then something I've trouble with over the years is having a food phobia. And first off, nope, not like an eating disorder (I'm fine with how my body is). I had a breakdown around 5 years ago and I guess something in my brain snapped thinking I was gunna die from little things. I couldn't swallow anything. Was weird- I stopped being hungry and didn't eat anything for two weeks. Major shutdown.
I'm alright now, still got the fear every now and again that one certain foods I'm gunna choke and die. So yep. That's one of my major ones.

If we're talking about irrational ones
Not to sound like some cheesy 'acceptance' ad or whatever, but I find that there's no such thing as irrational fears; any fear is rational for the person dealing with it, if you ask me.
