I grew up with vampire movies since 1987 when i was 5 seenig The Lost Boys in a theater and watched Dracula, Vamp, Fright Night etc. on cable and TV.

Mine are:

Dracula (1931, 1979, 1970 Spanish-UK-German Jess Franco and Christopher Lee version, and 1992 Bram Stoker).
Nosferatu (1922 and 1979).
Let The Right One In.
Near Dark.
Horror of Dracula (a.k.a. Dracula 1958).
Interview with the Vampire.

Interview with the vampire (Tom Cruise is so good as Lestat that I forget it's Tom Cruise)

You've basically said all of the good ones lol but i'm still not sure if I would count Martin as an actual vampire flick..good movie nonetheless

Once you've said Bela Lugosi's "Dracula," everything else fades into insignificance.

After that, in no particular order:

The Blade Trilogy
Carpenter's "Vampires"
Fright Night
Dracula: Dead And Loving It
Love At First Bite
My Best Friend Is A Vampire
and, of course...
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
 
Off the top of my mind the cult classic the Lost boys the two corey's were great in that. Also Interview with a vampire which I recently saw for the first time all the way through.
30 days of night was okay for a horror type but the above two I enjoyed more.
 
wow I can't believe I forgot both Underworld and the Buffy movie, tsk tsk, where is my brain today?
 
I've actually never seen the Buffy movie =/ everyone keeps telling me it's nothing compared to the series. And I forgot about Blade and Firght Night

Well it's not even close to as good as the series, but (I'm a minority here) I do really like the movie too. It's campy and fun, not to be taken very seriously sure but still - an amusing watch
 
Ravenous is a vampire movie, it's based on Wendigo Native-American/Canadian vampire lore. The Wendigo is an evil spirit that can bring a dead person back from the grave as a zombie-like ghoul, a werewolf/werebear/werecougar or Cannibalistic vampire who's bite can turn it's victims into cannibals.

Martin is a vampire movie but a very realistic one, loved that since High school.

Where's the love for the awesome and brilliant Near Dark? it came out the same year as Lost Boys but almost better or just as good. Bill Paxton stars in it with Lance Heriksen and Jeanette Goldstein from Aliens, it's a must rent and see as it's one of my teenhood faves.
 
Something has just come to my attention...Despite the fact I adore things about vampires, I've seen very few movies about them. I've seen some of Van Helsing, I've seen Lesbian Vampire Killers and the Buffy movie. But that's it.
Out of all the movies listed, which would anyone recommend I watch first?

I'd say "Dracula" from 1931 with Bela Lugosi and the "Bram Stoker's Dracula" from 1992 with Gary Oldman
 
The only vampire movie I've watched is Dracula (I can't remember which one, though I know it's not the 1931 one. All I remember is that Dracula had white hair) when I was probably 7 years old. My older brother told me before we watched it that nobody would die. Well, he was wrong. Anyway, after that I was terrified of vampires and had nightmares about them for ages. When Twilight happened, however, my fear of vampires evaporated immediately. And now by watching Buffy I've realised how cool vampires can be and how uncool (in my opinion) Twilight ones are.

Oh, wait, I HAVE seen Van Helsing!

Maybe its a different Ravenous then.. otherwise I think a great many people missed that little aspect.

I'm not up on canadian folklore so maybe for Ravenous but I always interpeted Martin as a serial killer who craved drinking his victims blood even if he seemed as he had no choice

No, no. He ate. He only drank the blood when he used it for stews and what not.
Anyone likes Near Dark? NOW that movie has been a fave of mine since high school in the late 90's and came out the same time in 1987 with The Lost Boys, while LB is great this one is even better and has Bill Paxton as the kickass Severen who doesn't take crap from no one.
