I still have season 1-3 on DVD, issues #1-20 of the on-going comic from the late 90s in near mint condition (along with all the special mini-series and annuals from that era), The Watchers Guide, a few US and british BTVS magazines and that's sadly it. I *might* have the hardcover photo album somewhere...
Used to have x2 laminated and framed posters (1 of Buffy, 1 of Angel), a watch mint on card, lots of VHS releases and Moore season 1 Buffy and Angel figures MOC, few books, a Graduation Day Sideshow Buffy mint in box (which I sold on ebay for $10 with a heap of other carded figures in the one lot..got screwed bad). All sold them after I lost interest in the show around season 6...wish I still had those items now! Cruel!
Oh! and I also had a fraud prop piece of the prophecy girl dress (faked, paid a tone) and Emma / Anya's lock of hair (also fake / fraud from the same ebay seller at the time). Thing is I didn't know they were fake until someone checked them out years later and gave me all the info about this crook...
Starting to collect the figures now and hoping to get some of the books and some costume cards...

Hey guys. Can I just take a moment of your time. I'm a media student at University in the UK. I'm doing an assignment on fan cultures and just need to ask a few questions. You don't need to answer all 3. But answering one would really help me out. Thanks.
1. Why do you collect/buy Buffy merchandise?
2. How do you feel about the rumours of a Buffy movie, without any of the TV show's cast or without Joss Whedon's involvement ?

1. I collect mainly becauses its a way of showing my love for the show. Granted, I don't have as much as some people, but I'm happy for what I have
2. Personally I hope it doesn't get made. We don't need a reboot without any of our favorite actors/actresses or Joss' involvement. If the reboot movie is dead, good riddance.
3. That's an interesting question. I've heard some people say that "Vampire Diaires" are a rip-off of Buffy (The show in some ways is), but the books were written around the same time that the Buffy movie was out. I do think that Buffy was responsible for popularizing the Vampire tread again in fiction, because how many vampire/supernatural related books do we see in stores nowadays?

Because at the time the merchandise first came out I felt like I was giving back to the show the show helped me through life and I wanted to show that it made me who I am today.

I think it's stupid at least the other film had Joss a part of it even though they changed his script it was still a cheesy good film, if they wanted to make a new movie Joss should be a part of it and some of the actors from the show.

In a way it's good it can get more Buffy fans but I have notice that the other vampire shows has made some people hate Buffy cause she stakes the vampires. I think there is too much vampire shows at the moment even though Vampire Diaries was written back in the 90's I still think they should stop the vampire phase and the zombie phase too even though The Walking Dead is brilliant there are too many films about zombies.

Sadly have had to put my one Buffy/Angel item (excluding the DVD box sets) up for sale on an auction website. It's Dawn's lava lamp - the actual one from the set which I bought from Fox Television when they auctioned off loads of the props in 2003 - and my living room will seem much barer without it 🙁
