I'll try to explain it better, what did you expect to really like...tv, books, music...that was a total let down?

For me it was the Harry Potter books. I liked the films, but hate the books with a passion.

I can't comprehend your last sentence...but Twilight.

I thought I'd like the books, wasn't too crazy about them, thought I'd at least find the movie "okay", but it was awful.

To phrase it badly: JK Rowling can't write for shit.
I don't think I liked the Twilight books...I say don't think, because it was kinda addictive to read them. Now I've done it, I don't think I'll re-read though.
Although, if Midnight Sun ever get's published I'd like to read that.

I think you're the only human on this earth that doesn't like JK Rowling or Harry Potter *books* :p
Television:
Veronica Mars: I tried to get into this show but could never get past the first few episodes. The show has an interesting plot and I adore K Bell so I thought I would have enjoyed it...sadly that wasn't the case.

Movies:
Napoleon Dynamite. I don't get the love people have for this movie; I thought it was one of the worst movies ever made.

Music:
Lady Gaga. After hearing Bad Romance I high expectations but was let down. I enjoyed a couple of her songs early on but have since grown tired of her music.

I agree. Napoleon Dynamite was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life.

Yup. Gaga has went downhill fast.
I liked the Twilight books but then I saw the movie, which sucked - I now hate Twilight in general.

I really liked The Host, so it's not Stephanie's writing that I dislike, I think I just got fed up with seeing 'Team Edward' and 'Team Jacob' everywhere. 😛

The Star Wars Prequels. Having grown up on the original trilogy, it was a foregone conclusion that Star Wars but with awesome effects was a 'can't miss'. Sadly Lucas picked up the banjo, took a swing at the cow's backside...and hit the milk maid.

hahaha agree about the prequels and love the way you phrase this!
Dexter. I had heard so much about it bu when I finally sat down to watch a few episodes I just could not get into it.

The Immortals. The entire movie was a blood bath and the mythology sucked big time...

For a minute, I thought there was a movie to Alyson Noels books.

Naw, it's a movie about Theseus and Greek gods. Has Mickey Rourke, Freida Pinto and Kellan Lutz in it.

brinkster130 nooo! You can't give up on Veronica! 😛 Dude, the first couple of episodes didn't even hint at the brilliance to come, just like how Buffy started. Veronica's first season is like, the greatest first season of any show, IMO. But of course, different strokes for different folks. It's all good. (Goes to a corner and secretly cries) 🙂

Shows I couldn't get into

The Wire (Yeah, what crazy guy doesn't like The Wire? This crazy guy.)
Mad Men
Supernatural (sorry, I really tried 🙂)
Charmed
Being Human
The Vampire Diaries

Movies I couldn't get into

Twilight

Twilight

Books I couldn't get into

Twilight (I don't understand the appeal)
Harry Potter (sorry again, I just couldn't finish it. 🙁)
Atlas Shrugged (I didn't agree with Ayn Rand's philosophy)

IDK, I've heard great things but I haven't been able to get past ep. 2. Maybe I should give it another go...

Aside from the moral depravity of Objectivism, Ayn Rand is a crap writer. It's no surprise that you couldn't get into Atlas Shrugged.
Dexter. I had heard so much about it bu when I finally sat down to watch a few episodes I just could not get into it.

Same!

I always hear such great things about it, and I keep trying, I've started watching it 3 times, and I always make it about 4 episodes in before getting distracted.

For TV? Hmm...

Dirt - I heard so much about that show, and I like Courtney Cox, so I really wanted to love it, but I couldn't get into it.

That one ABC show where they went to prehistoric times to try and save the future. I can't remember what it's called for the life of me. - Seemed really, really interesting...But just, in my book, ended up being a dud.

The Wire - Tried to watch a few episodes, but I was absolutely bored out of my skull. I don't understand the big deal with that show is, I really don't.

As for movies...

In Time - Looked very promising, and while it was alright, I thought it fell fairly short.

Clash of the Titans - I said the same thing here as I say with every movie....NEEDS MORE LIAM NEESON

Doctor Who for me. I was expecting a really really amazing tv show. But I never liked it. And I don't like Rose, which is apparently blasphemy in the Who world. Only good thing about that series, is Catherine Tate. I've been in the middle of season 3 for almost a year now.

As for Twilight...I hate both the books, the the movies, the author, the actors....except for Robert Pattison. No one hates the trilogy more than he does ahaha

Movies:
Brokeback mountain
Mamma Mia
Titanic
.... watching them was like a long excruciating death to me

Books
Everything by Anne Rice (about her vampires) after the first Vampire Chronicles.
Anything by Sherrilyn Kenyon (possibly the worst author ever)
The house of night series

Tv-shows

Ringer - I tried but couldn't get into it, sorry
the CSI series
Birds of prey (if that is what the show was called, can't really remember anymore but I was excited when it was coming)
oh and Happy Endings, just no - not even funny at all.

Black Eye Guy
Black Eye Guy
I'm in love with Happy endings!
Spider-Man 3 was probably the most disappointing movie for me... some other movies I expected to like but didn't:

Sin City
Zombieland
Brokeback Mountain
Palindromes
Life During Wartime

TV shows:

Veronica Mars
The Comeback

Two books:

The first, by L Sprague De Camp, is titled "The High Crusade," and is the unlikely story of an alien vessel landing in a small village in England, just before the nobleman was preparing to take his soldiers to the Holy Land on crusade. (I won't reveal any more details than that, but I highly recommend the book to anyone interested in science fiction adventure with an odd twist). It was, and remains to this day, one of my all time favorite non-series books.

The second, "The Wolfen," whose author, sadly, I have forgotten, is about a species of canines that has evolved over the ages, parallel to man, resulting in what became the source of werewolf legends. They are predators, with humans their natural prey, feeding on the vagabonds, drifters, and homeless, whose absence is rarely, if ever, missed. One kill goes wrong, resulting in an only partially devoured corpse, and a team of homicide detectives investigate the murder. Once more, I won't reveal any further details, but, to me at least, the story is absolutely bone chilling.

My disappointment came in both cases by the books being made into movies. "The High Crusade," instead of the adventure that the author depicted, was handled like a Monty Python comedy, and substandard even in that form. "The Wolfen" became simply a story about a pack of wolves living in an abandoned house in a slum in Chicago. The only similarity to the original story was the shared title.

And one Movie:

Edgar Rice Burroughs' "A Princess Of Mars." being made into the movie, "John Carter." My disappointment isn't with the treatment of the movis as taken from the book, I really like the movie. My disappointment is how the audience is staying away in droves, almost definitely destroying any hope of sequels.
