Were you a fan of this ship at any point in AtS? Did you feel like they didn't get enough time together? Were they even fitting with each other? This is a thread to discuss the ship, whether you like it or not. 🙂

I was never a fan of Fred/Wesley. I didn't find them believable at all. Wesley clearly had feelings for years (and his were believable) but Fred never seemed to have real feelings in return.

I love the idea of Fred and Wesley.

I wanted her to want Wesley sooo much. But I didn't really get any idea that she did until season 5. Mostly I just feel bad for Wes. Because he loves her. . . and she's so oblivious for most of the show. If they had gotten together sooner, or if she had responded to him sooner, I would have been a lot happier.

That said, once they were finally together, I loved them and was very sad that they didn't have more time. 🙁

*sigh* *eyeroll* meh...

More or less in that order 🙂
After their previous entanglements I found their relationship/romance to be very bland. They were too similar in a way, and them together it was just... boring. As if they were too perfect for each other. There was no friction, no fire... just settling. Or in other words - dull.

Eh. Liked them well enough, until Wes said that he'd loved Fred before he knew her. Then I just dropped them.

I think they could have explored the relationship for atleast a few more eps before they killed her. But in that case, her death wouldn't have been as tragic, in case it didn't live up to the expectations of the fans. Tough call.

Otherwise, i think it was written really well. Well, that's what I say no, after having dealt with that they teased us since the beginning of season 3, making us think they might get together and then taking Fred from us. I had mayor issues with that at first, but now i'm more objective and can say it was brilliant.

I loved the relationship, I liked how the story teased us with Wesley/Fred, but then gave us Fred/Gunn. I do wish it got more time though, but that scene in "A Hole in the World"...damn, that was one of the saddest Buffyverse moments

I was a fan of them from the beginning. I wish we had seen more of them as a happy couple before she died.

I didn't care for this pairing, or Fred/Gunn either for that matter. There just wasn't any chemistry. But I did believe Wesley loved her, thanks to Alexis's damn good acting.

I think the Angel/Fred or Spike/Fred would have worked better.

As much as I love Fred/Wesley I wanted Angel/Fred and Spike/Fred. I think it could have been interesting for some time.

To the original question I love Fred/Wes. I see the cuteness that is Fred/Gunn but I was never serious about them.
I don't think Fred/Wes had enough time and wish they had more but overall the fact that they got what they did was great in ways.

i love fred/wes so so so much. fred/gunn to me was never believable. i mean, they were cute. but. didn't work for me.
i hate that fred and wesley didn't get much time together. "a hole in the world" and "shells" are two of my favourite episodes in the entire whedonverse.
i also LOVED wesley and illyria's relationship. i think they could have done a lot more with it.

Fred had become more than not interesting to me by that point of ATS. And Wesley was irritating at best. So I really didn't like them or give them a chance in hell.

Fresley is my second-favorite ship. The ending made me cry, and I was reminded strangely of Passion. Brittish man with dead girlfriend on bed, right? I think Giles and Wesley should've gotten together and talked about their love life at some point.

I didn't really like the thought of them as a pairing when I watched..but once they finally got together I wanted it to work and I believed it...especially from Wesley's side. His feelings for her felt real. When she died..or should I say when HE died.. it was incredibly sad. (Illyria changing to Fred's form as he lay dying..yeesh that was so sad) I never thought that much of Wesley until after the final episode. Looking back I definitely appreciate and like the character a lot more.

I love Fred/Wesley. I think I have a thing for unrequited love, so when Wesley first had a crush on her, I was totally supporting them. I hate Fred/Gunn and any other Fred pairings (especially Spike, who should only go with Buffy or, for pre-Buffy years, Dru).

I loved Fred and Wesley together, they were so sweet. I didn't really like Fred/Gunn, and when that happened I was thinking "where did that come from??" But Fred/Wesley always seemed kinda right for each other.

I never got excited about any pairings in both BtVS and AtS except the one, so I was pretty much cool about Fred's romantic life. Wesley, on other hand was the character I rooted for. I did not care much whom he fell for - to be honest I always thought Lilah was much more interesting than Fred and order of magnitude hotter. But he was suffering - therefore I felt bad for him. When it all ended in such Whedon-like fashion - I was heartbroken - but mostly for the loss of Wesley. Sigh. Ilyria turned out darn interesting character though , IMHO, much more interesting than Fred - and I absolutely loved her and Spike's dynamics in AtF.

Yeah I was actually a massive Fred/Gunn fan, and I kinda hated that Wesley and Fred starting getting weird together, and her relationship with Gunn ended. But certainly later on in season 5 I got the appeal of Fred/ Wesley, and I really hated how much Wesley loved her but couldn't have her, so I jumped on the ship immediately cause Wes shouln't ever be sad, poor guy never catches a break. Too bad their time was cut short.
