So, the first story arc of Buffy's season 9 is complete.

What did you think of it overall?

I actually ended up really liking it. I just re-read them all together and when I was done I realized that I'm feeling more of a connection to the characters than I ever did in Season 8. Though I am one of the people that really did like that season as well. 🙂

I liked it. But I think I connected with Xander's character much more in S8 than I do in S9, maybe because I have no clue what's going on in Xander's head at the moment. So far S9 has been too Buffy-centric, with Xander, Willow, Dawn and Spike being pretty much in the background with no inner monologue at all.

With that said, I still enjoyed S9. I like how down to earth it is and the lack of magic is very refreshing.

That is true. We need more of the Xand-man. :)
I started it hating it- issue #1 did it for me. I really felt like giving up on the comics at that point. But I'm glad I stuck with it. I ended up liking it, but not loving it.

I wasn't crazy about it. It wasn't horrible but I was far from impressed. Re-reading them all together now may change the way I feel about them; so I'll give that a shot them come back and see how I feel.

Even though I can't say I've been liking season 9, I am looking forward to seeing how they deal with the pregnancy. Also, what ever happened with the student loan collector...was anything about that ever said? Hmmm, maybe I should do that re-read today. 🙂

I liked the story of Buffy being lost better when it was called "When She Was Bad". Or "The Freshman". It took less than an episode, it was far wittier, it made sense and it didn't rely on soap-operish cliffhangers. Severin is a retard, the zompires idea is horrible and if I hear one more time how awful the breaking of the seed is I might break something myself.

I loved it, because Joss has managed to establish the new rules of the game without losing the characters. Plus, he set up a personal arc (Buffy's pregmnancy) and global arc (about bringing magic back), and I suspect that sooner or later these two arcs will inteweave.

And, of course, Spike is finally here, and he cares for Buffy, and my shipper heart is temporarily happy (although I prepare for a storm). 🙂

Lets be honest, the comics arent very good. I bought 6 then realized i was being conned.

What made you realize/think that? Usually, being conned involves someone intentionally conning you - i.e. trying to get your money for nothing.

Do you feel the comics are just an attempt to make money without much work put towards storyline and artwork?
