I'm curious what items you all collect. I love collecting items, and have a lot of fun hunting for new items for my collections.

Currently I collect:

-Beer cozies
-Beer coasters (mostly from breweries I visit or beer festivals I have attended)
-Vintage scarves
-Free Matchbooks from bars or restaurants I visit
-Stephen King VHS tapes

How about you?
 
  • Board games - it didn't start that way, but I have so many now that I may as well lean into it 🙂
  • Funko Pops
  • I want to start collecting pocket watches because I just think they're so pretty

This is a 1926 Smith's Ultradyne, my oldest Superheterodyne set.

This is a Marconi 252FM (I have the other knob for it, it just kept falling off) which is a 14-tube AM/FM/SW set that weighs 41.5 pounds. It's a table radio but the table had better be oak.

There is a crystal set in the middle, a Freshman Masterpiece on the left and a Harkness Counterflex 3 on the right. The Freshman was the first mass-produced radio The crystal set (in front of the Zambian drum) may be earlier than the 1925 date of the others, but these are the earliest sets I have. The blue radio on the end table at the right is a reproduction of a Sparton Bluebird in modern transistor circuitry.

So, when was the last time you went to Ikea for a coffee table?
Basically anything relating to films I enjoy. Pens, sketchpads, toys, figures, Funko Pops, coinbanks, globes, and posters...themed with Star Wars, The Lion King, DC, Stranger Things, Godzilla, Jurassic Park, The Office, Jaws...and, of course, a little bit of Buffy!

I also enjoy collecting CDs, DVDs, and vinyls.
 
I used to collect Funko Pops, but am now at the process of shrinking the collection to the essentials and I have lost interest and enthusiasm for Marvel during the last year (I do still plan on watching the Disney Plus series and Black Widow).

I do collect Dunlop guitar picks, one of each type, a lot harder to collect than Funko Pops since I only need 1 pick of each and a lot of those come in bulk so it's easiest to get single units in small music shops.
 
I looked at the comedians and actors that had sought to find a decent few words that they would become well known for, one that no one else used. To those who found that catch phrase that was memorable I say well done, especially if it is a funny thing - tee hee.
 
@ILLYRIAN who in their right minds would go to IKEA for a coffee table? This is a pecan wood table with a three-section leather top inlay, $106 at Leon's in 1974. The interesting thing is the exact same table shows up in a recent trailer for a Disney movie.

I must admit I did have one heck of a time keeping a straight face while I was wrote about going to IKEA to get quality coffee table.
 
Y'know, Illyria reminded me that maybe I should put Ikea furniture on my list, too. It wasn't on purpose, but I guess I collect them; all but one of my apartment furniture is from Ikea 😀
 
Ikea furniture (14 Billy bookcases; four sets of Malm drawers; a TV stand and my kitchen units - but no coffee table) @Puppet 🙂
Books and films (amassed because of my job but with half-arsed collections included within. On the Billy bookcases)
Doc Marten boots (uses as bookends on the Billy bookcases).
"Vintage" Fossil Bags.
Swatch Watches (in the Malm drawers)
Sandman stuff (on the Ikea TV stand and the bookcases)
Tate Art Exhibition Posters and canvas bags (though this seems to have branched out to the Guggenheim; The Moderna and the Rijksmuseum - kids bought them). Hmm...mostly in Ikea frames.
Mondo film posters (Not framed - need to go to Ikea)
 
I try to collect books, because I love and buy a lot of books. However, about two times a year I have a ”too much stuff” meltdown (currently in one) and start selling off books left and right. So the collection grows... and shrinks... grows... and shrinks.

So now I try to collect only a specific set of editions of Russian Classics released in Sweden in 1970, because their covers are really lovely (red leather bound with ornate ”gold” pattern)

Me too. I only have so much space, so about every year or two I go through my collection and decide what I probably won't need or read again and donate them to various local libraries, or give them to friends.
 
More than I should! If I weren't married to a tidy person, all the stuff I am tempted to collect would take over. As it is, though, the only kind of structured collecting I do right now is grey or white horse figurines. And travel mementoes, I suppose.

Edit: And horse books. And old "Horse&Rider" magazines. And some old BtVS stuff and ... rather mire than I lihe to admit.
 
Come to think about it, my friend seems to collect grey Arab horses at the moment. The real deal, not figurines. That makes my collection of model horses seem very sane.
 
Coins - Mainly foreign but I have a lot of old British ones too. Trying to get a set from each recognised Country of the World.
Books on Archaeology (Mostly Ancient Egypt)
Fantasy & SciFi Art books.
Old American model car kits (Mostly NASCAR).

Loads of other things but those are the main ones.....yeah I have way too much stuff 🙄
 
I collect zines! I have some 90s ones and lots that are still being published nowadays. They are pretty cool!
Also coins (my sister got me one from Ancient Rome this Christmas!), comic books (specifically comic books with badass women on their covers), and merch/memorabilia from punk shows.
