Ok we've been discussing allot lately about how to handle spoilers in the Season 8 section.

For one thing I think it's safe to say that once a new issue of the comic comes out all threads in the season 8 section could be updated with info from the new comic.

We also have people posting a little all over the place, like we have a discussion thread for each issue yet people are posting other threads about it.

Or we have people posting threads when they the cover image is released, then another thread for the varients, so allot of the information is all over the place in different threads. What I think would make more sense would be if we had one thread for each issue before it came out like a pre-disscussion thread for #7 in which you can post the cover image, the varients and any spoilers that come out.

So vote in the poll so we can narrow it down as to what everyone conciders spoilers. or of I've left anything out or have any ideas on how to handle the spoilers issue post in here.

Plot outline - The little summery we getabout the issues. eg: Long way home pt 1:
Since the destruction of the Hellmouth, the Slayers--newly legion--have gotten organized and are kicking some serious undead butt. But not everything's fun and firearms, as an old enemy reappears and Dawn experiences some serious growing pains . . .
Issue spoilers - This is any spoilers
Covers - The regulars or Varients
Previews - Sometime they release preview pages.

I think spoilers can be classified as plot lines, very important events that unfold. Things like that, what characters are coming back etc...Aka: everything about the comics people haven't read yet haha.

I guess I consider "issue spoilers" a spoiler. I mean, I can't really piece together what's going to hapen in the issue just by reading the plot outline. But maybe that's just me... 🙂

i can't resist spoilers, so i look at everything, but i guess, i'd concider MAJOR spoilers to be things like issue spoilers, people posting about the contents of the up coming issues, like page by page disciptions, and previews of the pages of up coming issues...like the pages of the next issue N4H posted the other day.

...like the pages of the next issue N4H posted the other day.

Which I hesitate to point out was just a link offsite that came with a spoiler warning, and a vague, possibly bogus description to give an idea of how big the spoiler was.

hey, it was fine with me.
All of the above, depending.
Covers usually not, but depends if it has something like is on Issue8. I like to find tidbits here and there, but don't want to know *everything* about an issue before I get the chance to read the comic.

I don't think a plot outline counts as a spoiler. It's the same thing as saying the little blurbs in the TV guide are spoilers. The covers usually don't really tell you anything that isn't in the plot outline so those aren't really spoilers in my book either.

I do think that actual issue spoilers are spoilers (obviously) and the same goes with page previews, which doesn't mean I won't necessarily read them, but I'm a little more hesitant about getting spoiled for the comics. I'm not quite sure why, but I'm sort of afraid, that (since I'm relatively new to comics) if I already knew the story I might not like the comics anymore. I'm afraid that maybe getting the new bit of info on the story is the only thing that I actually like about the comics.

yeah, plus comics are so short easy to get spoiled for all 30 pages!
Here's one I'm wondering about. There's no way discuss it without mentioning it, and I think it needs to be mentioned, so if it bothers someone all I can say is sorry, my bad.

At the San Diego comic con Joss said Oz is coming back. Is that a spoiler? It's common knowledge now for anyone who surfs around to Buffyverse sites. It's in the latest news and announcements here at BB.

In the days of the TV show when something like this happened we didn't really give it spoiler status. For example when Nathan Fillion, or Faith were coming to S7. Has that changed?

i've known about Oz's return for a while, and actually, i don't see it as a spoiler. i think, when the comics were given the green light, every single character that appeared on the show was now open for a come back, so it just made sense to me that Oz would have been one of the first.

i did however consider Ethan Rayne to be a spoiler...only because i forgot about huim and didn't think there was the slightest chance of him coming back! lol
