What do you find impossible?

Some say nothing's impossible. But come on! Everyone has something they can't do and probably will never be able to do.

So do you have those?

I will never ever be able to do a cartwheel. Never! I tried it my entire life and simply couldn't get how it's done!
Also, I can't speak slowly. When I try, I feel like I'm talking in sort of a fake way, it doesn't sound natural.
I like speaking in accents, but I will never ever be able to speak in a Russian accent. And it's supposed to be an easy one IMO!

Russian accent is easy, just put a "y" before every vowel, say "or" instead of "o" and roll the rs at the back of your throat.
Winning the Lottery >:-(

Just trust me when I say it's impossible, I've tried enough for the both of us and it ain't happening.

Fred: Can I say something about destiny? Screw destiny! If this evil thing comes we'll fight it, and we'll keep fighting it until we whoop it. 'Cause destiny is just another word for inevitable and nothing's inevitable as long as you stand up, look it in the eye, and say, 'You're evitable!'

Nothing's impossible as long as you stand up, look it in the eye and say, 'You're possible!'

I think that basically, nothing is impossible. It's just depend on how far you want to go, and also, if you are ready for the consequences.

I remember once at school, a teacher told us "Nothing is impossible. You are totally free to do whatever you want, you might just have to assume the consequences. It is not impossible for you to kill me if you hate me and my classes. You can kill me, you will just be sued and go to jail for that".

It got me thinking. Nothing is impossible. We can do anything if we give ourselves the ways and if we give ourselves no limit, if we break our own walls and if we are ready to live (or die) with the consequences of our choices.

Yeaaaars ago, it was impossible to even conceive that women could even vote one day. Women could have just stayed still, or they could have done what they did: creating the suffragette movement, going on strikes, fighting for their right even if they were arrested many times, die for the cause. And then, with all their efforts, the impossible happened.

So all the things which depend on ourselves and ourselves only, and our rage to fight for ourselves are possible.

But some situations in the world can't be fixed, no matter how people want them to. I'm thinking about extreme poverty, underdevelopped countries, hunger...In those difficult countries, it's pretty much impossible for the people who live there to just put an end at it. They need extern help.

I think if you need extern help, it's harder to be able to do whatever you want, because it doesn't just depend on you.
That's why, if we have the chance to be free and to have possibilities and to make things ourselves, we must do it!

I've met incredible people who helped me understand that everything is possible.

I had a manager at work who told me about herself. When she divorced at 34, she had no money, no possession, nothing. She had the guard of her handicaped daughter. During months, she slept in a motel room. Her daughter had the bed, she was sleeping on a matress on the ground. She started working. She was saving and really had a miserable life for a time, but she kept saving. After quite a while, she had enough to rent a house. Then she had money to buy herself furniture. Then a car. It's very tough for her to conciliate work and her daughter. And yet, she managed. She had nothing, and now she has everything she needs. Sure her house isn't huge, her car isn't shiny, but she finally has a confortable life. So when I heard a 18 years old guy saying he screwed up his life for good, I told him that story and he realize he could still change things.

My mum is also a great example. I don't want to go into details, but when she divorced my dad, it was a life-saving decision for us all. She was alone in her hell, she had no one to support her. And yet, she managed to get out of that hell. She managed to move on. It took her time, but in the end she did. She thought she could never trust anyone anymore, and yet, around 45 she started making herself a new social network. She has people she can trust, people she can confess to, people to have fun with, and even a boyfriend now. It seemed impossible for her to have any faith in people, and yet, she did.

There were other people but right now I can't remember.

My point is, those people helped me understand that

1. It is never too late to take your life in your hands
2. You can overcome anything

Of course I live in a social context in which anything is possible, I don't have chains and I'm aware of my luck for that.

So to answer the basical question: nothing is impossible for me. Except maybe giving up?
It is impossible for me to give up when I have an objectif.

And of course, what is also impossible is to miraculously heal from a illness no one found a vaccin for yet.

Your mom and your manager sound very inspiring! :)
I can't slam a revolving door. Or turn into a fairy and fly on silver-gossamer magic wings.

But you probably knew that.

In spirit of this, I have to say besides the obvious, there's nothing I CAN'T do, just things I don't yet do well.

Wait, scratch that: I can't shut up. It's impossible. I'm talkative, if I try not to be I burst and it gets even worse.

mayfever agrees: Russian accent is easy, just put a "y" before every vowel, say "or" instead of "o" and roll the rs at the back of your throat.

I know it is. And that's my problem. Everybody can, and I can't. My brother does it well. But when I try, dear God, poor Russians who have to hear me. I tried what you said and got stuck!
