Question What do you hate?

So I was browsing through some comic-con pictures of Amber Benson that I have never seen before earlier today, and on closer inspection, I do realize that there are things about her that I just can not stand. I know, sounds crazy eh? Amber is my absolute favorite of the Whedon stars! Anyways...What I saw was that Although she is very gorgeous and all, she does drink way too much coffee. Her teeth are super stained from the caffeine. I never really noticed it until today though. Most of the pictures she is in, she is wearing her trademark lopsided, closed smile. There are very few teeth-bearing smiles. I saw this and i'm just like "Omg, I need to go whiten her teeth!"

Another example is Nicholas Brendon. He STILL annoys the hell out of me, but I still love him. Saw some pics of him w/ Clare Kramer and I just realized, "Damn, He's gotten really old and ugly!". Good thing ASH doesn't have this problem. He looks good no matter what 😀

So anyways, my question to you all is this:

What do you hate about your favorite characters, or even the person who plays them? It can be anything from things they wear, to things they do.

as for me? Amber as Tara: I hated Tara's hair in s4. 😛 I also hate how she pretty much dresses like a 12 year old girl! Yuck!

I could go on and list a bunch of things I hate about all of my favorite Buffyverse stars, but I wanna see what you guys think first 😛

I HATE how Robia LaMorte shoves her religion down peoples throats. I've spoken to her through her website, and she does it A LOT. I also hate how she talks about how Buffy is "evil" and yet still uses it to promote herself. PICK A SIDE! Ack. It saddens me to see her doing this because, prior to her acting this way, I was a huge Robia LaMorte fan. I still love her work on Buffy, but as for the person herself...I'm not a-lovin.

Yes!!! I hate that about Robia too!!! She used to be so humble and now it's all just gone down the drain. And the fact that she still uses Buffy to promote herself confuses me. Why would she do that if she thinks buffy is evil???

I agree that she does look "real". I love the form of her teeth. They are very straight. I just HATE how stained they are from caffeine! 😛 She's a star for crying out loud...get some whitening done ever few months or so! sheesh I'm anal when it comes to dental hygiene

So you're starting to hate them because they're not as pretty as you imagine them?

You genuinely can't stand the fact that Amber Benson has less than perfect teeth? Personally I think she has a lovely set of teeth.

And of course Nick Brendon is looking older hes nearly 40. Do you really think that not having perfect teeth and getting old are reasons to hate someone? 🙁

That makes me feel pretty sad to be honest. I really hope I'm not understanding you fully.

To answer your first question, no. I never said I hate them. Just because I find things I hate about them does NOT mean that I no longer love them. I am and always will be Amber Benson's #1 fan. (anyone care to try and take that position away from me, I dare ya!) No one is perfect, I know this. But as stars, aren't they supposed to try and look their best a good percentage of the time?

As for Nick...what I meant to say is that he no longer looks healthy. He looks old and exhausted and I am actually worried about that.

Sorry I thought what you hate about the actors or characters was what you were asking with this thread and thus demonstrating with your examples. And you did imply you couldn't stand Amber because of her teeth. Which saddened me is all.

You are of course entitled to your opinion.🙂 I was just a wee bit taken aback is all. 🙁

But this is an interesting topic. Because everyone tends to only see the best in the people they love despite their flaws.

I'm sure anyone who has spent five minutes talking to me knows I LOVE Eliza Dushku. I think she's flawless in her looks and I love watching her in interviews because she is so smart and funny. But I do think Eliza is very full of herself, she knows she's gorgeous and talented. I think she's a little self-absorbed. She isn't someone that if she were say not a celebrity but someone I met at school or work that I would want to be friends with. But I still freaking adore her.

David Boreanaz who I'm in love with lol I think he's an alcoholic and clearly a ladies man. I thought this even before I found out he cheated. Thats the kind of guy he is. Flash his adorable smile and little-boy eyes and gets out of any trouble. Do I love him any less knowing this. Nope.

Nick Brendon. I love him but he's also clearly an alcoholic way more then DB. I think its very sad and I hope he stays sober. It definitely explains why he looks so much older, alcohol and drugs will do that to you.

In answer to your question the only thing I hate about any of the characters and the actors who potray them is that most of the men I like are taken. But hey a girl can dream 🙂

This isn't the nicest thread to read. It's one thing to not like aspects of a character but to pick apart an actual person's physical appearance or character traits. I dunno guys...

Alos, I did point out that it could be things your favorite character does. For example: I love Xander, but I hate how his way of coping with a situation is to make a joke about it.

Agreed. No, there wasn't any malice. I just think its important to bare in mind they are real people and not characters. Perhaps we Paddies are altogether too sensitive eh Kean? And on that note I too am outty...

Honestly Jo, I could care less if Amber's teeth are not perfectly white, or if Nicholas' age made him uglier. I don't 'hate' people because there's something in their appearance I am not fond of. 😛

Perhaps but I think there is something rather distasteful about throwing up huge pictures of her just to point out that her teeth are yellow. You say she usually has a closed mouth smile? It may be because she is self conscious about her teeth. I don't think she would read these boards but it still irks me.

There are plenty of threads criticising people from the Buffyverse for their actions, I have never seen one before being cruel about appearance. It's not nice.

Actually, Nick isn't so old. He's almost 40 and that's not old, but alcohol made him look older and less healthy. 🙁 If he'd taken care of himself he'd have looked his age. He reminds me of Mathew Perry "Chandler" from Friends, alcohol made him look older than the rest of the cast.

I think the thread is being taken too seriously she was pointing out one tiny flaw about someone she ADORES. The thread isn't to bash on Actors or characters. More often then not everyone praises the people they love shamelessly completely ignoring any faults they may have simply because they love them. It was just a thread to point out the flaws and see if anyone agreed with you. Sometimes its nice to remember that we don't have to praise them 24/7 I find that it can actually make you appreciate the actor/character more to know you dont have to love everything about them.

Also I think its a credit to Amber that the absolutely only flaw she could think of was her teeth werent white enough. It's clearly just MsFantastico87 being OCD 😛 lol.

She didn't say only list physical traits. That just happened to be the only things that bothered her.

Guys, I don't think Joann meant any harm with this thread and I don't think it was saying she doesn't like the way Amber looks. She just said her teeth are yellow and she didn't realize that up until this point. I get being picky about teeth because my cousin and best friend are both really OCD about people's teeth. It's not a big deal.
