What do you imagine other members to look like?

There are a few people I picture as their avatars, but for the most part I don't really put much thought into what people look like. I usually just associate members with their user name.

There are a number of people here whose pictures I have seen, and I've always found it fun/interesting to put a face to a name.

I recognise people's avatars and assume that's what they look like. Some people's personalities seem to match their avatars more than others. [MENTION=8551]Summerlilly[/MENTION] seems kind of chilled and happy like her avatar, for example.

I tend to assume that people with males avs are male and female avs are female, unless I know that persons not. I must admit I remember seeing a picture of [MENTION=11317]Cast No Shadow[/MENTION] and Claire was nothing like what I expected 🙂 My pic is also on my profile but I'm no longer a red head.

I still do picture people as their avatar, to be honest. I'm sorry, I can't help it! 😛 I've seen what a couple of members actually look like, so I picture them as that, but if I haven't seen what you look like in real life? Sorry, [MENTION=11853]Jodast[/MENTION], I picture you as this evil, twisted, demented, sick, yet brilliant guy. And I love you to death. 😉

I definitely love putting names to faces. I don't know why. I doubt anyone would, but I put my profile pic up in case anyone's curious 😛

Joss tries to portray himself and the mad professor type and I am sure that plays more than a small role in how you see me come across on these boards. So even there the avatar plays a part in forming your image of me.

I'm the same, I generally imagine people like their avatars. There's some people who've really shocked me when I've seen what they look like in real life (usually in a good way 😀 )

I always imagine [MENTION=6330]arabella[/MENTION] to look exactly like her avatar....except pregnant hehe. I'd be very upset if she changed it to someone else.

And like the beautiful Nixxie said, my photo is also in my profile 😀

Yes! [MENTION=6330]arabella[/MENTION] is Julie Benz in my mind. It just...fits. I picture you, Clairebear, as...you haha. It's weird, because even though I know what some members look like, I will pretty much always see them as their avatar. Alie aka [MENTION=11056]Seeing Red[/MENTION] will always be Eliza in my eyes! However, I picture other members as themselves. You and [MENTION=8689]Cait[/MENTION] specifically.

Also, I'm sure those who haven't seen what I actually look like picture me as Fred. Sweet and innocent.

Since I change av and signature a lot I must be confusing the hell out of people. I guess it doesn't help that I don't post my gender. Not that I mind telling people that I'm male. I just don't see it as important. I like it when people get my gender wrong.

If I don't know what someone looks like it's simply the easiest to associate them with their av. Although when it comes to gender I often think it's the opposite to what they're using.

Yeah, I tend to associate people with their avatar, not really like that's what they look like in real life but it's the mental image I have of them. Which is why seeing people in pictures is always kind of a funny experience...

I think of people as looking as their avatars, or if they have distinct personality in their posts in my eyes (or I've gotten to know them) I create a image in my head from the "feel" I get from that person. 😀 It's funny, 'cause when I see pictures of how people look like the image in my head is almost always right! 😀

A medium once told me I had sort of a intuition, maybe that's that showing:? 😉 😀

I associate people/recognize them by their avatar. So when someone changes their avatar.. I'm a lost puppy trying to remember if they are the same person I was thinking of! :cat:

I love that you guys think my Av fits me! I'm a little blonde woman so I guess it fits as well as it could 🙂 I tend to imagine people as their Avatars if they rarely change them, unless I have a different mental image from a real life pic or from knowing (like with Cait) that the person is not the same gender. Marshall is Oz in my head. He just is.
