What do you lie about?

I only lie to people that I am not interested in seeing

Person A: ' Hello Kirsten! what are you doing today?'

Kirsten: ' Oh, I'm busy / I don't feel too well"

Person A: ' Oh, okay then'

hang up.

next day.

Persona A ' Busy today'

Me: Err, no. but I don't want to do anything either...

.... beep.

Yeah, I lie about pretty much anything that I can get away with. I mainly lie to avoid talking to people I don't want to. I find it easier than having painful conversations with people that I do not care to talk to. Maybe it is because I have no morals, but lying to people who I do not really have a relationship with just does not seem all that wrong to me.

Also, I thought you were gay, Blake. Or have your lies finally caught up with you? 😉

I always lie about my name when just meeting people...

other than that I lie about my second life, cant let the wife know about those things... :: red dev

it's easy parker, of course it does involve lying, just tell her that you like guys, ( I find this works well, when thwarting off advances of women I am not romantically inclined to). Although when they turn around and try and set you up with a dude, it bites you pretty hard in the @$$ when you have to explain to the guy, " i'm not gay". So on second thought, just run, run as fast as you can!

I already did that and one of my best friends comes up to me and goes "is there any hope for us?" and I just stood there looking at him for like 2 minutes. And the girl followed me home yesterday... Maybe if Jessica (I'm pretending to be her boyfriend so some guy doesn't stalk her) will be into it we can get more "involved" and rub it in her face.

I lie about my feelings. A lot. I don't like to share, but it's hard when I get in one of those moods where I just want to be left alone. Then my friends bug the hell out of me, and they're usually the reason I'm in that mood to begin with...

Maybe it's just me, but I've always wondered about why so many people hide thier feelings. Could it be that they see an expression of emotion as being weak? I know I've seen that in myself. I don't like to confess when I'm upset about something, to admit something even bothers me that much. I have a friend who's very...open?...with her emotions. It's sometimes to hard to handle. I can't comfort others very well, at least not when they cry...

Oh sweetie...she already KNOWS you're a crossdressing celebrity impersonator...😀

I Hate my real name so I lie about that constantly, then from there my imagination goes wild and I end up being this chica who Ive never even met..But people believe me, I actually have friends who dont know my real name... Kinda odd..

Trusno1 I know exactly what you mean. I've always wondered if courtesy lies are actually necessary. I keep considering being completely honest about that stuff, but I haven't really tried. If anything, it probably makes me weaker to hide emotion that is there anyway; it's just the fear factor i guess.

Blake and Alleycat lol. Do you really all lie that much, or are you just.. umm.. pulling our legs? 😛

My little lies:
...I used to lie about my education alot. I still don't have a high school diploma, but I'm in my second year of engineering now anyway, so that little lie has become a moo point (as joey tribiani of Friends would say).

...I lie about how much money I have, when I'm broke. It's not like I try to sound like a big wheel or anything. I just have the habit of never admitting to being low on cash. If anyone asks me how the wallet is doing I always say it's in good shape, even when it isn't. I think this is like the courtesy "I'm doing fine" lie people say all the time, but extended to dealing with money as well.

..Hmm.. I used to lie about how many girls i'd been with. Overestimation all the way. I think most guys I've met are like this, multiplying the real number by three or so, and with the ladies, you have to divide by three. Pretty funny lol. I haven't lied about this in a while though. It's either no one's business, or it really is their business, and when it is their business they should get a straight answer in this day and age.

I lie to policemen. Consistently. I can't control it, it's mindlessly habitual. "No officer, I had no idea I was going 40 km over the speed limit. Wow, are you sure?" lol The funny thing is they must get lied to alot. They gotta be pretty sick of it. hehe

I lie when people ask me if I know how to play poker, or some other sharkable game I can play passably well, like pool. 😛

I lie on my taxes - hey, there has to be a redeemable reason for doing under-the-table work, and the extra hours just doesn't justify the effort.

There's a few other things guys always lie about I'm not going to go into here. I'm no different for the most part.

Oh yeah, and when someone really is interested in a topic, but they are wrong about a few things that they probably got from word of mouth, I pretend I don't know any different in those rare times when I actually do know different (courtesy lie). Same thing with people who compulsively lie - I pretend I don't have a clue they are lying, no matter how obvious it is. I figure it's not my problem, it's theirs, so I let them think they're duping me.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. 🙂

Ooh...the IRS is tracking you down now...lol

I lie about the "how are you", "are you all right?" questions as well.

And I am living in Germany at the moment and I really hate it here. I want to go back home as soon as possible. But when somebody asks me: Do you like it here? I wouldn't dream of saying: no, I really hate it. You can't really say this, can you? It's the same as: "are certain things (they ask for specific things) better or worse in Austria?" I usually say: They're just ... different blahdiblah... when really their much better and then I try to talk about the only thing I really like better in Germany: the big shopping centre we have here 😀

Thanks for the suggestions Blake, but finding ways to repel the girls is not one of my highest priorities right now. 😀

LMFAO @ Randy Giles!

So let me say this i'm more open on the puter, than in person. If your "desperate for a shag", you should tell them you are gay, cause then they will want you more. LOL it works both ways!
