What do you secretly enjoy that you also feel a bit "ashamed of" ?

I'm sorta afraid that's what's gonna happen if I actually watch a couple of complete episodes, but I really don't wanna let go of this hatred, it's good for me and I kinda love it.

I suppose I can't claim that The OC is entirely without merit or aggressively bad. (Hollyoaks, I'm looking in your freaking direction) I just find it odd that it's so wildly popular. If it's on, it probably wouldn't occur to me to change channel, and I did have a brief phase of Good God Mischa Baron, but I know people who are obsessively, fiercely protective of it and I truly don't see anything in the show that would inspire such devotion. But then 24 is on, and it's alllll okay...

I was the exact opposite. I usually give any new show a chance to impress me so when The O.C. began i had nothing against it. Then my girlfriend at the time got hooked and forced me to sit through every episode of season one when it was shown on Channel 4. Thank god we split up before season two began over here!!! Some weeks i honestly wanted to poke my own eyes out, that is how bored i was! That show really is awful!

Um yeah, The OC has actually got that thing, that makes you be all hyper protective and obsessed.. Something with the characters but yea.. (And the dialogue, although I'm afraid to mention that on a Buffy Board cause it's obviously nothing compared to BtVS dialogue.)

EDIT: Oh and Ape, I understand your "I wanna hate what people love" thing, but can't you see how people just keep hating The OC, and that you're so not alone in that OC-hating-thing, so maybe you shouldn't hate it....?
 
Hmmm, my guilty pleasure would have to be about music. I love rock n' roll, and that's USUALLY all that I listen to. But, I do have some Britney Spears songs on my i-pod. *guards face from throwing objects* I don't really care for her much, but some of her songs are fun to dance to, so I end up dancing to them, and sometimes maybe singing to them.... :help:


((By the way, no offence to anyone who DOES like Britney Spears!! Please don't hate me!!))

That's what my sister keeps telling me. I know I'm being all pretentious and all, but seriously it's the entire concept of OC that I don't like. It feels as if there is nothing in there that I can relate to. It's all surface and even though I'm shallow I need more than that.

I agree, I can't relate to those characters or the things that happen, I mean I can in a way but it is of course about as far from my life as you can get, but still, the characters are so amazing, lol. (Yeah, as I said, I'm trying not to start cause I'll be ranting about this forever, mhm...)

It would probably have to be my Alice in Wonderland obsession. It's my favorite disney movie, and I'll watch it all the time! It's nuts.

This is an awesome topic! My answer, and you will all laugh, but 'A simple life' or 'The simple life' I can't remember which. Paris and Nicole (spelling?) show. Those two girls have got to be the most annoying girls in ages, but the things they do are fricken crazy and I guess at times funny.

your not alon hon, your NOT alone, i have season 2 on DVD, i've watched out s1 so i want buy that, but i can't wait for s3.. i think the show is so deadly funny and embarresing all the stuff thse 2 do ;)and annoying as heck, but i LOVE IT LOL

oh the OC thing, well i tried it, though, sure it might be fun, but it turned out i just made the same mistake as i did with Dawsons creek when it came on tv.. WAY back wehen, i though it would be fun, caouse there was so much fuzz, but after watching the firstbeppy, of both shows i just don't see what it's about... don't like the OC i'd rather watch DAYS OF OURT LIVES or THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL instead, and i hate those shows too 😉 i don't like the actor who plays seth, think he is... well i don't like his acting style or the way he is, he was on gilmore girls as well, but i'm glad he signed to be on the OC...

BUT i do like season1 of ... *coughs* ONE TREE HILL... LOL i don't like s2 though, they just made a okay season1 and drove the series into the ground in s2... that whole DEB and DA thing, they are evil and horrable people and i hate the characters. and i don't get why they try and make DEB look younger or what ever, with all those light pinks and so on. She looks trashy with that style.. also way lighter hair then she should have...

Oh i have to admit, when i wa i paris this september, i bought ashlee simpsons album, i listend to it in a store there and though, that's not so bad, cause i really like her voice, but the album tieres REAL fast! Like 2 weeks and i was sick of her songs, and her lyrics are so self consumed, i just can't stand it.. but i do have it....

I am a huge fan of Disney Films. :embarasse I know they're reeeaally cheesey, but I have a huge collection of Disney DVD'S. They bring back all those childhood memories. 🙂

LOL, i totaly forgot about disney films.. i comented on alice in wonderland... but yeah, Mulan was GREAT, and i liked the songs on pocahotas(sp?) LOL and monsters Inc. gosh i love that one... i like cartoons in geral, but its not a guilt pleasure.. except for the songs on pocahotas, the other movies isn't 😉 :hihi:

I know that feeling too. I didn't think it classed as a guilty peasure when i first read this thread but judgeing by the response of non oc fans i better go hang my head in shame.

Tell me about it! She is so not my usual type. I'm usually all about the rock and goth chicks but Cheryl just seems to do it for me.

Having said that i'd give her up in a second if Amy Lee or the chick from Slunt came my way! 🙂
