What do you think about Buffy in season 1?

It's all about our sweet little Buffy 🙂
I loved her all the way, from the begining to the end, but in the begining she was so close to me and then I loved her more than in season 6. What do you think about B. in season 1?

I absolutely love early Buffy.
She was so young, innocent and less serious which is a true joy to watch,

Later we lost much of that, which I'm actually also happy for. It wouldn't had been much of a show if it had been 7 seasons like season 1.

But it does make season 1 very special for me, and I really love to watch it directly after I finished season 7.
It's so fun to see the difference and it always make me happy to see a happy Buffy.

Yeah I know what are you trying to say. It would be silly if she acted in season 7 the same way like she acted when she was in high school. But I love first 3 years of Buffy, that school time, when they are all together and she is so happy and funny 🙂

I think that Buffy was great through all of the seasons. I liked the way that she grew up (slowly at times and quicker at others).

I feel kinda bad that Buffy had to get so cold, like when Giles and Buffy were at the cemetary in season 1, and Giles was saying that before she would never have sacrificed Dawn to save the world, then Buffy comes out and says if she had to so she could save the world then she would.
Idk, I love Buffy, but in season 7 it was purely "The Mission is what matters"

I also loved Buffy in s1. Even though her school years were full of vampires where ever she went, she still had a sence of humor and a lighter personality.

Happy Buffy. Those were the days, eh? Back before her first apocalypse, before she died, before she had to start making the hard decisions that broke her spirit and faith in the world. When her biggest problem was if Giles would let her go on a date...

I too have a special place in my heart for S1. Everyone was so less jaded than they are now. Also, the true intention of the show was more clear. S1 is "pure" Buffy, classic horror mixed with that dead-pan ironic humor and action-adventure.

Plus, you gotta love all that leopard print she was sporting in those days 😉

Yes, unfortunately it was mostly "It's the mission that matters." But could you blame her? Everyone loves season 1 teenage happy Buffy but in reality, would it have been as great of a show if she stayed that way? One of the genius things about a Joss Whedon show is the character development. Maybe part of the reason SMG wanted to end the show was because Buffy had progressed to such an unhappy character. Can you imagine having to play such an emotionally unhappy character every day? I do love the early Buffy days but I also appreciate the later Buffy. Someone who had made so many sacrifices and lost so much she was a different person....but she still managed to pull it all off, somehow!
