Do you have pictures? I would love to see pictures. I really like antique radios.. not that I have any or collect them, just aesthetically they are beautiful.

do you know how to repair that type of circuitry, or electronics? My limitations are shouting at my computer and threatening to use it as a boat anchor.
 
I do all the repair and maintenance on the radios. I am an electrical engineer. BTW it does not show up properly, but the wire in the Ultradyne (the last picture) is square cross-section, not round. That was the state of the art 89 years ago. If you followed my link to the antiqueradios site, you will see the steps I used to get this radio back into operation and why you should never just plug it in and turn it on without checking everything over first.
 
I find it funny how this topic turned into a discussion on the maintenance of radios. 😀

As for the OP, I have played the game and she's definitely a bit of both. It is just sad that strong female characters usually have to be sexualized - TO THE EXTREME - in video games. I've been an avid gamer all my life and it would be unfair not to admit that. I think some progress is being made, but you will always have some creative design that will leave you pondering what the hell they were thinking. 😉
 
For me, she is a mixed bag too. 😉

I am not a Metal Gear Fan (only playing this Metal Gear game, because its a 80 Million Dollar open world stealth simulation)
Normally I am more the 10000 hours Diablo guy, grinding into oblivion. 🙂)

As a companion, "Quiet" is very strong and handy. For a game, this mechanic is nearly flawless implemented. I am impressed.

Her background story is also interesting. She is a tragic character, who failed two times to kill the players main character. Then she becomes his ally. Its a very special relationship between Quiet and the Boss. Interesting "Joss Whedon" character stuff...I guess.

But, she is also very ... well ...see by yourself. 😉

But seriously, that character was 100% created to be objectified.

So is she like the feminist anti-hero? I know a few feminists who probably think they are Quiet.

Well, I am not sure, because there are also scenes like this. But be careful, there are some violence peaks inside...

I remember once hearing about a horror film where a teenage character showers with clothes on, presumable so that they could show enough flesh for it to be sexy, but also because they couldn't show her fully naked and get below an 18😉
