What do you think about the write ups on Netflix programs?

I have had a great time reading the write ups, I found the occasional one to be correct the worst one I found was about the film The Golden Compass. The description of it states that a plucky young orphan (Lyra) goes on a quest in a parallel universe.
Is Lyra an orphan as her mother is stated in the film.
They did not go into the parallel universe in the film that was done in the TV series.
What have you guys found about the film or TV series write ups?

That sometimes it seems the person who wrote them never watched a second of the film/series.

Lyra believes she's an orphan at the start, it's only later that it's revealed who her parents are. Putting it in the write up would be a big spoiler.

I think you have to be careful about what you can put in, so the audience doesn't know everything before watching.

Good point and quite understandable, in some films though the falsities seem to try to lure the viewers in.

For films, series, and books for that matter, it often seems difficult finding a happy medium. I've read book and episode blurbs that gave away plot twists that happened up to two thirds of the way through, and trailers for episodes and films that also do the same. And film trailers can be really bad sometimes; some of them seem to lack any scenes that actually made it into the cut of the film in them, or give the idea the genre is different. Or, in the case of bad films, have every single bit worth watching in them.

When you say you'd want a happy medium, did you mean that to be a happy psychic?

For Netflix (and a lot of other streaming services) the writeups that annoy me the most are "A new show brought to you by the creators of ..."

You literally can't think of anything else to say?

And what of the shows you turn off after only watching five minutes of it because you didn't like it. Then the twonks send you several other shows because you watched that show, what don't the twonks understand about, 'I did not like the (first) show?

Point agreed on NotASlayer, makes you wonder if the idiots that run Netflix are any good at anything other than setting up the program?
