[Another Apocalypse?]

I think she was thinking one of three things-

1. Oh crap, I left the oven on!

2. Oh crap, I forgot to cancel the milk!

3. It's finally over.

...in the final scene of the series, when the camera zooms in to her face and Dawn says her last line.

I never concern myself about what Buffy's thinking. She doesn't do it very often, anyway...

Most likely she was just picturing Spike all naked.

She was thinking "Wow we won! What's next?" and "Am I really gonna have a chance to live a normal life like a normal girl?"

It is ironic that Spike's name is the last thing Buffy says in the entire series.

According to CHOSEN, the novelization of the entire seventh season, buffy was thinking, "Cookie dough." Actually, I think she was thinking, "Now I can go out and make some big important movies, like SCOOBY DOO 2."

Trying not to be all whimsical, but maybe she wasn't thinking anything. For the first time she had nothing to fear, and a huge burden had been lifted off her shoulders. For the first time, her mind was clear.

But who knows?

Well she had to be pretty relieved, first of all. Second of all, I think she was wondering at the fact that Spike (of all people) was at the heart of the victory and how proud she was of him. I think it was at that moment she actually understood the depth of the love he had for her and how it had changed him and was amazed...but then again that could be wishful thinking on my part.
