What Do You Think Happened Between Faith And Robin?

Toward the end of Season 7, Faith and Robin seemed to be on the verge of actually forming some sort of actual relationship, and by Season 8, Faith refers to him only once, to call him her "ex." What do you think happened?

Personally, given that Robin was pretty much flirting with Buffy for most of the beginning of Season 7, until he learned about Spike, then hitting on Faith almost from the first moment that he laid eyes on her,my guess would be that he had more of a thing just for Slayers in general, trying, in a perhaps not really healthy way, to replace his lost mommy, plus he just might have gotten on Faith's nerves by what seemed to her to be his flaunting his superior education in her face (like the "Achilles heel" thing. A whole lot of that, and she might have gotten fed up)

As an alternative, her whole attraction to him might just have bee a combination of long incarceration sexual frustration and a natural reaction to an extremely stressful situation and an effort to attain some sort of physical distraction.

Relationships on the Hellmouth just don't tend ot work out. Apparently that applies to Cleveland too.

Plus relationships formed in extreme 'we're all gonna die tomorrow' would probably cool very quickly once the danger was over. They both probably realised they had a big nothing in common.
I mean come on, could you really see thirty-something Principal Wood going out and partying at a club into the wee hours after kicking loads of vampire butt? That's what Faith did to unwind and get her headspace clear- I'd imagine that appealed even more so after 3 years of jail.

Not to mention that Faith- in those quieter moments when not on the job- is still haunted by the crimes that she commited. That much was made clear in S8.
I doubt Wood could empathise with that, feeling guilty about taking an innocent life, since he tried to kill Spike in cold blood.
(not gonna get into the rights and wrongs of what he did but I think that goes towards Wood's own internal justifications. He wouldn't understand the guilt/self-hate thing)

I did think they had a lot of great sex though, so good for them. 🙂

I think Robin may have become a bit creepy towards Faith, and I get an abusive vibe off of him so I would hope that this pairing ended soon after chosen. Then Faith can run into Buffys arms and they can bond over bad men 😉

I think it probably started to get serious, and then with Faith's issues, she pulled away.

He was a smug a-hole who was way too fond of keeping important secrets.

I imagine that Faith eventually found out about how near Buffy/Wood came to being (date, flirting, etc) and, Wood having never mentioned this to her, figured that he was just like every other guy and ditched him.

The situation brought them together, they found each other attractive. Did their thing and when the situation passed, they found out all their thing consisted of was physical attraction and stress.

I don't think there was any deep personal attraction. His "I'm going to show you what a real man is" was all fine and well, but it's not what Faith wanted, so what good is it?

I think they had fun for a while but as soon as things started to get serious it (mutually) fizzled out. Faith couldn't open up and be vunerable and Robin has enough issues of his own to work through that he couldn't be the one to help Faith.

Faith realized that Robin in no way deserved her.
No but seriously, besides having nothing in common, I really don't think either of them were very into each other. Robin seems to want a "perfect" woman like his mom, and probably was expecting a lot of things from Faith that she was not having. Not to mention he probably couldn't handle her continued guilt and emotional problems. Faith realized she didn't have time for his nonsense. And then Buffy and Faith get together and he realizes he lost both of the Slayers that he was hoping to project his mommy issues onto. Too bad, sucker.

Faith realized that Robin was just a lame plot device to give her a) a partner for the sex fest in "Touched" and b) a silly attachment disorder arc instead of letting her interact with the Scoobies which was by far more interesting at that point.
