What do you think of ... Marilyn Manson?

I've heared Zander say some nasty things about MM, so I wonder what everyone else thinks of him? I personally think he's very inspiring and he seems like a sweet person.
 
i hate him because he likes the devil i think but hey thats my opinion
 
Anybody ever seen 'Bowling for Columbine'? I'm just asking because he was interviewed in it and seems way smarted than you would intially think.

Since when does he like the Devil? I was very angry when they started blaming him and his music for the Columbine shootings. I mean, if Rose McGowan dated him... what could possibly be wrong with the guy?😛
 
OZ: yeah i saw that i was so shocked, cos i've never seen an interview with him before, and a little while ago i saw the diary of.. MM on mtve, and he seems to be normal in his head, even though he looks alittle different!! he even seemed smart! and the paintings he showed on mtve, they were cool!
and i agree on the rose part!
and i don't understand how people can blame music for things like that, they always blame whats the furthest away from the people who do things like that(insted of putting some blame on parents, school, bullies and so on, it's easier to blame the not near parts of life...)

here in norway we have a woman, who is in congress,who wants to cencor all games(vid and tv games) and she blames the makers and NOT the parents, when there are children between 8-15 who play violent games everyday..) not that i blame columbine on the shooters parents!! just an example *stoping my rant now* LOL
 
Go rene! Marilyn Manson is messed up! Ok yes he has had like 2 really cool action songs, but other then that hes a freak. Now this is just my opinion and obviously some of you like him. I don't. You guys are aware that he had his ribs taken out so he can suck his..... ***** right??? Also whats with the make-up and all the womens clothes? people like him give 'Humans' a bad name.

No trying to start a fight or anything but Allycat did say this was war. and this thread is meant to debate that.
 
oh, that sounds bad... the rib thing... and the make-up is bad.. i'm not a fan, i just think that he is not all bad, that the stories are bigger than the badness of him.. if you know what i mean 🙂

i have to work in an hour... 🙁 not even an hour... i'm tiered and want to go to bed... 🙁

You know, I made a wise crack about the rib thing in the Resident Evil discussion, but I feel compelled now to point out the utter crock of B.S. that this is. I don't really like him at all, but knee-jerk reactions to someone like Marilyn Manson make me as nervous as he seems to make conservative moms. In my opinion, he's a PT Barnum level master self-hyper, and that's it. He's harmless.

Check out this site dedicated to debunking urban legends to learn more about the rib-removal rumor and the endless varieties it comes in (and other celebrities it's been attributed to over the years). Or check out one of the dozens of other sites you can pull up on Google in a matter of seconds by searching for 'Marilyn Manson Rib'.
 
i've been a big fan for years, he's one of the few artists in the mainstream with lyrics worth putting thought into... didn't really like the last album, but it doesn't matter, he has done enough...

and yes, he's a member of the satanic church, but if you bothered to check that out you'd realize they are all atheists and use "satan" as a metaphor...

he's really smart though, you can see that in his lyrics and in his comments regarding pretty much everything, he deserves praise
 
He still scares me and hes still a freak. Wonder what happened to him as a kid??? Its funny how people get big by acting like a weirdo. Eminem sings bout killing and drugs, nelly sings about parties and sex. 50 cent sings about all of those. and then every now and then you get a 'good message' song like 'Where is the love?'

I'm gonna make an album about killing my family and smoking with my friends. I should make millions! (by the way I know this has not much to do with manson but thought I should say it).

In other words I'm a goody goody and hate all the 'bad/punk' bands. I hate korn, ICP, and slipknot as well!!!!!
 
please, never label manson as "bad/punk" again, he's neither.... you don't even know his lyrics are about...

also, never ever write korn, icp and slipknot as if they have anything to do with each other, not that i like any of them that much anyway

Oh I struck a nerve!
I didn't call Manson 'bad or punk.' I called the bands that. I said I wasn't really talking about Marilyn.

as for Good Charlotte..... well......um......
 
anyway, hating bands is the stupidest thing in the world... you may dislike them, disagree with them, whatever... but hating? its not like they did anything to you... what a waste of energy

the word hate has been watered down so much anyway

But that's so not true! One time in eighth grade, Anthrax stole my lunch money. In high school, Slayer used to give me wedgies all the time. And when I was in college Alice in Chains totally hooked up with my girlfriend behind my back.

Fine I don't 'hate' them I just dislike them very much.
