I actually kinda like the movie.Of course it's nowhere near as good as the tv show but it does have it's good funny parts.It's also nice to see how Buffy was before she became the slayer.I know the movie has nothing to do with the series but I'm sure the tv show Buffy acted the same way as the movie Buffy before she was called.What do u guys think?
 
I think it was a pretty good movie.. I mean, I was pretty sceptical at first... I mean, look at the title 😛 But I watched it, and it was funny... And well, not as obnormal as I thought it was going to be 🙂
 
I just remember that it sucked.. I watched up until Merrick came and just turned it off because of it's mass not-goodness.
 
😛 There was a definite abundance of not-goodness wasn't there?

I thought it was okay, I mean it bought about the TV show so there's something to be thankful for.
 
I always kept missing it as it came on late (well late for me anyway).

When I finally got round to watching the whole thing, I was so disappointed.

Bad acting, dialogue. :witch:

I am so glad I saw the TV show before I saw this as I doubt I would have even watched the show.

The only good actor was Donald Sutherland (Keifer's dad).
 
I laughed I few times when watching it, but mostly because it wasn't that good.. But I enjoyed watching it, but I doubt that I would have if I wasn't a fan of the series..
 
I think it has that campy-ness that is seriously underrated! LOL. It's good for a laugh, but noone is winning Oscars for it and they never could've made a series out of it, continuing on that route.

But for a way to kill two hours, it's not the worst...

I hated it. I've never actually been able to watch it all the way through. I'm actually surprised that I even started watching the series based on the way I feel about the movie! Luckily I have an open mind 😀
 
I think it's a campy movie and those kinds of movies aren't too bad.
 
I have never seen the movie, but I want to despite the bad reviews. I am not expecting much at all, so maybe I will be pleasantly suprised. 🙂 I am very curious to know what the movie is like as I love the show so much.

The TV show is superior to the movie. But when I last saw the movie, I was surprised about how much I still enjoyed it.

Also, the movie reveals many hints of Buffy's development as a more mature character and her long lasting resentment of being a Slayer. Kirsty Swanson, Donald Sutherland and Luke Perry were great. :thumbs_up

It was okay. I only watched it after getting into the show. The only thing that bugged me was that vamps didnt puff in to dust. but.. all in all it was ok.. and Luke Perry was quite tasty..
 
I watched it, I believe, last month and I enjoyed it. I voted for "it's okay" but really I'm inbetween loving it and it being okay. It's much better than just okay! There are a lot of great lines in there like "Get out of my facial!" (laughs to self) And it's always fun to see two-time Oscar winner, Hillary Swank making a dork of herself! In a good way too! And how can you hate their funky chicken cheer? "How funky is your chicken? How loose is your goose?"
 
I love the Buffy movie. I saw it in theaters when it came out and thought it was funny, plus I loved the romance between Buffy and Pike. The 90210 boys are hot🙂 It was campy but I like that sometimes. Plus the valley girl stuff was funny, and I liked the music. In fact when the tv show came out I was disappointed because I thought in comparison with the movie it was kind of a bore. It seemed like it was always so dark and they were always in the library. Later I would come to love the show (during season 2), and actually looking back on it season 1 wasn't the best. I can see why it didn't hook me like season 2 did.
 
I didnt like it but it was years ago when i watched is it just my bad memory or could the vamps fly in the film?

I'm not movie-expert-gal, but I think I remember at least one of the vampires showing himself flying outside a window..
 
Yeah. It was Pike's friend after he was turned into a vampire.

I thought this movie was pretty bad. The one thing I hated was after watching the series for some years before even concidering renting the movie, I was disappointed in the fighting! It might go without saying, but the series has better moves and shots etc. And the vampires were too different. No bumpies! And they, as stated above, could fly? Not to mention that there was no turning into dust in this movie. She stakes 'em and they fall down. Woo hoo?

Pike was a hottie, though! A+ to that!

Then there is Joyce... TOO different! In the movie, she (and was her name even Joyce?) was a self-absorbed rich girl who couldn't even remember her daughters boyfriends name... I like BTVS Joyce much better!

And I agree. The acting was bad. Pike/Luke was the best one.



I have a question though! When Buffy is singing to herself while she's on patrol, and then she's attacked by a vampire... Is it just me and my bad memory, or did the vamp look like Adam Sandler??? LoL, that'd be cool. Adam Sandler in buffy...
 
compared to the t.v. show... it bites lol i just think it was really badly done could have been much better but in the end it was i guess so wahey beer for all!!! ... (beer?)
 
Yeah, compared to the television series, this movie just stunk! it just reeked of bad acting and...bad acting! You can tell however that the movie had potential in terms of where the storyline was heading and so forth, so I guess the TV series gave what the movie couldn't offer - good storylines and a good cast!
