Spike only found out he's into Buffy after he wakes up from the dream where he's kissing her and telling her he loves her. It's only then when he starts following her around, hiding behind the tree in front of her house, comforting her at the back steps... Way before she knew about his feelings for her. But Drusilla left him because he couldn't stop obsessing over Buffy. And she says she knew way before he did that he loved her.

So when was the point where he fell in love with her? Not when he found out, but before that. What period of time Dru was talking about when she said she knew all along?

Was it the first time he sees her? (is this love from first sight??)

I think he was instantly attracted to her when he saw her dancing in the Bronze, but I think part of that was due to the whole predator/Slayer thing. I think the fact that he couldn't kill her made him become more obsessed with her, then when they worked together in Becoming he respected her a little bit. I think that during the last episode of S2 was when he started to subconsciously care for her, but it wasn't like full blown infatuation until much later.

Agreed. And because he is a vamp without a soul yet, I think his love and attraction for her manifested itself into the obsession to kill her.
I think he was drawn to Buffy from the moment he saw her in the bronze. I loved this moment!! The scooby gang are dancing to the song "stupid thing" and "1000 nights" by nickel. The way he looks at her you can tell he is drawn to her.
After he helped her kill Angel and save the world and disappeared with Drusilla i think something at subconsciously was growing. Drusilla knew about his secret obsession she says something like "i could smell her all over you" i think this is in the episode "crush"

Fool For Love, not Crush :)
I think he was instantly attracted to her. I don't think you can pinpoint the exact moment he fell in love with her. Just like I don't think you can pinpoint the exact moment she fell in love with him. I don't think you can pinpoint the exact moment anyone falls in love with anyone... it's a gradual thing, and from experience.. you just know one day you love this person. I think he realized he was in love with her in Out of My Mind. I think she realized she was in love with him in Touched when she has the strength and courage to go to the vineyard.

But as for when they actually fell in love with each other, I don't think there's a moment... I think there's a period of time.

I think he was attracted to her since he saw her dancing in the Bronze. Nice little trick he inherited from Angel. Kind of obsession, I guess.

Don't know the very moment he fell in love with her, but my guess would be since he started hanging out with them in S4.

Agree. In Fool For Love, Joss added a wonderful nuance: after killing the Chinese slayer, Spike says to Angel that next time "when and if this new bird does show up, I'll give you first crack at her". That's exactly what happens in 1997-2003: Angel gets the first crack on Buffy; Spike watches and compares. And he's fascinated by that girl.

Ok...thought: wouldn't he have smelled Angel on her? 😕Just thinking of S7...??? I mean, he and Angel would know each other's scents, right?

But yeah, James said he intentionally played up the sexual attraction (which I'm sure didn't take much work considering SMG), and it definitely shows and works in well with the direction things eventually took. I also believe that her strength is one of, if not the most, important things that really hooks him on her. He's faced 2 slayers before and killed them both: Buffy is the first person (or thing, even - you know, including vamps and demons and such) that he's faced and NOT beat. I think that really grabs his attention and also really shoves her deep into his head. Even back with Dru, he's still thinking about Buffy and how he wasn't able to kill her. From then on, she's always in his thoughts somewhere...though I can't really pinpoint at which time it really turned to thinking of her in THAT way.

Well, Angel and Buffy didn't have an real physical connection up to that moment except that hug in the end of When She Was Bad, and I don't think that hold on her for so long..
I have to go with the general consesus. Spike fell in love with Buffy, or at least became strongly attracted to her, from the very first moment that he laid eyes on her. She seems to have that effect on some vampires. Furthermore, I believe that she felt pretty much the same attraction to him, but the "without a soul" thing left her in denial longer than it did him.

I think he really started falling for her when he caught her crying a bit outside because of her mother's health problems. You can really see right there that something happens.

Liloouunnetteee !!! ♥ Pardon, je devais le faire :p
I just watched the episode again and i meant this bit in "Crush" actually...

DRUSILLA: (through her laughter) But it's so funny... I knew... before you did... I knew you loved the Slayer. The pixies in my head whispered it to me... I thought they would fly away...

I think when he first saw her dance in the bronze he felt attraction, then when he saw her slay his friend outside he was impressed, and when he watched the tape of her fighting in the pumpkin field and remarked, "she's tricky"... more admiration.

Whatever part of Spike was still William loved Buffy from first sight; it only manifested through as an obsession. It took a few years for the demon to catch up with the man.

Of course; that's because I believe that Buffy and Spike share the same soul; it's a whole weird thing in my fan-fic; pay no heed.

Love your post!
I think he was attracted to her from the beginning, but I think he fell in love with her when he saw Angel coming at her with the sword right before he walked out of the mansion with Drusilla in "Becoming"....

That's a very interesting idea
I think Spikes love for Buffy, truly begins with his obsession for Slayers in general. From the moment he first learns about who and what a Slayer is, he becomes fascinated by the idea. So I think he is in love with the idea of the Slayer for most of his time as a vampire. Then he finds the Slayer in China, fights her and beats her. Same with Nikki Woods, but I got the feeling that the fight that we saw in the subway was one of a series of fights, as he says in FFL "I could dance all night with that one."

Then comes Buffy, and she beats him, repeatedly. No matter what he does he can't quite get the better of her, though he comes close several times. Not only does she fight, she banters, just like she does. Their fights are always filled with an exchange of verbal barbs, all long with all of the physical blows. Yet despite beating him, over and over, she never quite manages to stake him, to finish him off. So I think his love develops gradually but I think he starts falling in love with her at the end of School Hard.

As for Buffy, I think you can pinpoint when she really begins to fall for him, and that's at the end of Beneath You. From this point on her whole attitude towards Spike changes, she begins to make excuses for him, begins to actually want him around. Comes up with all manner of excuses as to why they should keep him around. Even after he begins killing again, so I think that this is the moment when she truly falls in love with Spike.
