As I said, I was just joking. I've rethought it. I think it could actually be done. Stay with me. Here's one way it could be done.

Angel hears a fuss in the lobby of Wolfram & Hart. He's told to ignore it. He investigates the disturance in spite of protests.

He discovers William at the front desk demanding to speak to someone in charge. William has no memory of anything that's happened to him since he met Drusilla. All he knows is he has the amulet. It led him to Wofram & Hart.

Angel is of course immediately suspicious. Adding to his suspicions is the news a serial killer is on the loose using Spike's M.O.

It turns out the amulet has separated the demon Spike from good William in the process of it's "cleaning" of the Hellmouth. (Remember we never actually saw Spike turn to dust. We only saw what looked like the beginning of the process.)

On discovering both Spike and William now exist, Angel is presented with a dilemma. He can merge Spike and William to Spike's original state, leave things as they are, or he can play God and kill the demon half of William's human condition in Demon-Spike.

I've seen stranger storylines in Angel.

That could work. William can look at Spike and say "Good Lord, that's me as a vampire?" And Spike would look at him and say, "No, I'm not you. I am the demon that posessed you."
 
And William could work with the Angel crew, yet Spike would be their enemy. Plus it would free Angel up for some Buffy action when she makes a guest appearance, because William wouldn't know her, and chipless, soulless, Demon-Spike can't have her.
 
I would hate that.....grrrrrr...dont even think that. Two spike's would suck....NO, there is only one spike and that is the spike we saw in 'chosen'......and thats how it is.......>_<...
And SPIKE DESERVES BUFFY, NO MATER WHAT!!!!!
