Was an interesting talk show on the radio a few days ago, the presenter was saying he had promised himself at a young age that by the time he was 20 that he would be a black belt in Karate, or at least be on the road to it. He is now 30 and has only done one Karate lesson, said it's his biggest regret but no longer feels that he can go ahead with it due to time and other commitments.

Do you have anything that you want to achieve or something that you feel is to late to achieve?

I know for me I often have regrets about NOT joining The Army, I did my medical, passed everything but then ended up with two broken toes so I got deferred for a couple of month, but at the time I wasn't working and then other things came up and I ended up not going back, I was 16/17 at the time, now 26 and although I could still join, I'll have times where I never think about it at all, then for weeks it's all I will think about. As far as wanting to do something, climbing any mountain one day I would like to try, any of the more famous/popular one's anyway.

Well..as far as goals go, I am sure you will get to climb that mountain whenever you're ready.

dad's friend almost re-enlisted in late 2000. They dodged a bullet!
I have a novel sitting on my C drive that I would like to get published. It is at ~196,300 words and would be 464 pages in 12-point New Courier font (but no one publishes anything but screenplays in that font anyway).

Say it is for hard of sight they'll do up to size 14-point .
I wanted to hit every continent before I was 30, well I am 30 and that hasn't happened, although I got half way through them, so I guess that's something. Hopefully one day I'll still get to the others, but finances are more of a struggle now.

Finances always improve, any loose/free change, keep saving, or a very effective swear jar haha
I don't believe in putting targets or timelines on things. But I would like to have a screenplay or story produced sometime. I would also like to see more of the world and maybe to make to connect with a few more people, and make a bit of a difference to people's lives.

You made a positive connection with me over football, friend for life haha
Most of what I set out to achive, I have. Like, I wanted to run a riding horseriding school, live on a horse property which I did until my body could no longer do it. My 5 year plans were met once the doctors told me to aim low cos of mental retardness and limitations. So finacial goals were out, i just looked for thigs that would make life tolerable. A home in the country has been marvelous and I am thankful I made it here for my final years.

When I hit 30, knew I didnt want to be married, or have children, and copped it from my family for "choosing" a harder life (single life). Now I realise I can not process the medical torture/ptsd and spend 12 days a month in incredible pain begging for death. That really cannot come soon enough. I have all these aspirations when I feel well, then get hit with a night like this and realise how stupid I am for dreaming.

My goal was to be self suficient as much as I can, and I have done that pretty well, but the car needs to run on petrol, not home grown veggies. Finding support for womens issues in the bush is impossible. Women dont experience pain according to almighty medical, we just need to calm down and shut up. I'd hoped to challenge this, help women like me, but on nights like this, sicker than a dog, I accept my limitations and just wish the stress would kill me already!

I like most of what you've said, not so sure about the stress, still.
Well it's not so much something to achieve but to find love in a life partner would be nice. To find a special someone that actually loves me and wants to spend their life with me. That'd be sweet. Other than that I don't know, just be happy I guess. Lame I know.

A great catch like you shouldn't have problems finding someone.

I'm in a good mood this morning so, virtual partner? And is that you in the avatar cos, I wanna nibble on that bottom lip.
I want enough money so I could travel anywhere at a moment's notice. I LOVE travelling, and haven't done any for awhile...plus, it would be BRILLIANT to sneak up on @GwenRaiden and @Bluebird in Glasgow, just for a surprise. I'd be like, "Hi!!! Give us a hug, where's the beer?!" 😀
The beer's all up in my fridge, fam. And you're welcome here anytime. <3

So, Amber Bunny Slippers, you want to see little Gwennie Poohs and her ever so lovely long socks maker (don't tell little Gwennie Poohs and her cute long socks maker sister that I'm in Glasgow) maybe I should have kept that bit quiet, oh well.

I was of the opinion that I didn't want to be on my deathbed wishing I hadn't written a book, so I did - so I wrote three. When I find myself on my deathbed I'll know that I tried, and I'll be happy.

HoppyHippy,
do you have a phone cos I tried to ring you but couldn't get through.

Getting my novel published.
Getting my radio collection either running (some of them) or sold (the others).

This thread has been a nice prompt for my own bucket list. Cool beans. A most present one for me, would be to go on 10 dates in a four month period with automatic second date for all and a protocol kiss goodnight every time, from the podcast I listened to it is allegedly good prodecdural. I am thinking of this as a social challenge more then like The Bachelor.
