What does your user name stand for?

I like the word. Thats it. It was a totally random choice when I had to change my original username.
 
Vicariously comes from the word Vicarious (vi·car·i·ous)
–adjective
1. performed, exercised, received, or suffered in place of another: vicarious punishment.
2. taking the place of another person or thing; acting or serving as a substitute.
3. felt or enjoyed through imagined participation in the experience of others: a vicarious thrill.
4. Physiology. noting or pertaining to a situation in which one organ performs part of the functions normally performed by another.

^ thats what the dictionary defines my name to be....and of the 4 meanings 3 is how I feel about Buffy. As a hopeless Romantic married to a guy who quite frankly isn't, I am able to experience the idea of being romanced, "Vicariously" threw my fav television shows and movies...

sounds a little creepy I guess...but yeah thats how I got my name...shortened from vicariously thru you. (I geuss Buffy wasn't truly romanced either, but somehow her relationships were still romantic?...passion I guess...there was plenty of that... in that respect I am pretty much the same in my relationship. but whatever, hahaha.)
 
Its Australia Day tomorrow so I was feeling in a bit of a patriotic mood ( is that the right word to describe it?) australia day is the best day of the year so I started celebrating last week!
 
Mine's pretty easy. My name is Jen, I was born in the 70s...so I'm "just another jen". I'm proud to be in the great club of Jennifers, lol. (The most popular girl's name from 1968-1981 that has never happened before or since then)

Nah, one of the great thinkers said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result....and I have this habit of going through the motions...or I used to.

Angel referred to Faith as 'Faithy' once, I liked it and wanted just Faithy as my username... It was taken so I thought of something I could add to it, I think the next part of my username is obvious and self explanatory lol. I liked that some on here have written FFF for short. 🙂

Why is your name, your name? (on BB)

The Ferg is a play on my last name, "Ferguson". Get it?
 
I was thumbing through my mythology book and happened across a bit about Aethra, mother of Theseus, King of some place who did a lot of heroic things I can't remember. But, I liked the name!
I just feel pathetic now, maybe I should refresh my memory on certain myths, haha.
 
The White Avenger started out as a D&D character that I never got a chance to use, then became the name of my white 1963 P-1800 Volvo, then finally the pseudonym/pen name that I have used on the internet. About a year ago, I discovered (was told by a friend, really) that there is another "White Avenger" who has a web site devoted to white supremacy and supports the ideas of the KKK, but that White Avenger AIN'T ME! (Just in case anyone might accidentally stumble upon his site.
 
I should hope that mine is pretty glaringly obvious. At the same time, it's a bit of a misnomer because I am not blonde.
 
Well, I think there is already a thread like this somewhere but I don't mind mentioning it again. 🙂 Tabularasa...hmmm how do I explain how I came about that. Let me think...Oh yeah! duh, it's one of my favorite episodes. 😉
 
Well caitaintdead came about about 2 years ago when I stopped going to see bands so much and the 'scene' I was apart of started questioning where I had gone to. I got sick and tired of checking my myspace once every few weeks to see 20 messages saying 'where you been cait? everyone's starting to think you're dead!' (que sarcastic laughing on my part followed by beating my head against my desk). So to end all the messages I changed my myspace name to caitaintdead. It stuck.

* Having something with the word "slayer" in it seemed suitable concidering the board we´re attending.

* A Kinslayer is a person who kills his/hers own blood relatives, which to to me sounded a lot like vampires.

There is a thread about this already here, What does your user name stand for? - Buffy-Boards, and it's not even close to 200 posts. So you might aswell continue discussing this topic over there! 🙂

Don't mean to be harsh on all the new people here, but please do a proper search of the boards before you start new threads. I found this other username-thread in like five seconds. It's easier for us users, not to mention for the Mods, if we keep the boards clean and not so spammy.

My username was a old gaming name I would use for 1st person shooters because you have to 'Dance' To dodge bullets and live and I did it really well my friends called me Dancing man!
 
well i am a huge comic geek (i think so but not realy) and i watched the first blade movy and he was the Day Walker a vamp that was half human and could walk in the day light. liked the name Day Walker hated the movie

i realy hate comic vampires that is why i stick to Buffy and Angel
 
Ok, I don´t know if I´m supposed to do this but since this seem to be the more appropriate thread I´ll copy my answer from another thread.

Cool I just changed my name, and this one actually has more of a reference to me, than just the huge historcal reference my last username had.

Schillaci was an Italian Footballer, who became quite prominent during italia 90. It was my nickname through some of primary school and much of high school. The reason I got this name is nothing to do with resemblence to Salvatore but about my football style, which was similar to his.

Also, a certain girl would call me scratchi, because apparently everytime she looked at me I was scratching a certain part of my anatomy.(the name caught on for about a week) but mostly people called me Schillaci, 'cept her. Or sometimes people just called me my last name. The occasional person would address me as cnut, god knows why.

I've actually had lots of nicknames. uh Duffman is one, uhm, for some reason my brain has died, but I have had lots of nicknames.

Oh oh, pyscho, a certain group of friends called me that. Mostly because I was always frontline(if you don't know what that means, I'm not explaining, thicko).
