What episode (s) from both "Buffy" and "Angel" have the biggest shock factor for you? Doesn't have to be just one btw.

To this day

The Body remains the most shocking episode of the entire Buffy series.
 
6ABB01, Bargaining, where Willow is sitting beside a stream in an idyllic setting and calls a fawn over. Then she pulls out a knife and kills it.

Tara getting shot.

Warren getting flayed.

2ABB16, Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, Xander thinks he is safe hiding in Buffy's room when Angel pulls him out through the window.

7ABB07, Conversations with Dead People, Cassie Newton tries to convince Willow to commit suicide then morphs into this ball of teeth and vanishes.

7ABB18, Xander loses an eye.
 
Oh I love this question!

If I had to narrow it down to the biggest shock, I'd say Glory sucking out Tara's head. Others for me include

-Warren's murder of Katrina in ''Dead Things''
-Any notable deaths: Ms Calendar, Joyce, Tara
-That scene where we see Angel and Spike get dusted by Illyria
-Pregnant Darla
 
All of these were shocking for me when I watched the seasons.

Season 2- Angelus snapping Jenny's neck
Season 3- Faith killing the Mayor's Assistant
Season 4- Nothing.
Season 5- I would say "The Body" but I was kinda spoiled on what would happen during it. Same for the "The Gift"
Season 6- Willow killing the fawn in order to get the blood to bring Buffy back. Tara dying.
Season 7- The rat demon attacking Spike and Buffy in the undergroudn Initative complex

Angel:
Season 1- Angel kicking Russel out the window (Shocking, but funny 😛)
Season 2- Angel setting Dru and Darla on fire
Season 3- Haven't watched in its entirety yet
Season 4- Haven't watched in its entirety yet
Season 5- Haven't watched in its entirety yet

What rat demon? lol I haven't seen season 4 as a whole in a while. What episode rat demon?
OH so so so so so many moments in both shows shocked the hell out of me!!!!!!

Too many to name, so I'll just go with the one I watched most recently (angel, season 1 - "under your skin") - just finished watching it and again, the layer upon layer and twist after twist.... brilliant!

Faith: No. You don't get it. I don't care!
Buffy: 😱

I watched the seasons out of order but chronologically this is the first big "OMG" moment for me in Buffy.
