Van Helsing is a vampire hunter set in Victorian times. I think his character comes from the classic vampire movies, though i'm not entirely sure.

Hugh Jackman is in the lead as Abraham Van Helsing. Kate Beckinsale is also starring. Van Helsing goes up against Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolfman. Apparently it's going to be something really special.. awesome special effects, wirework, etc. It's also the reason, if you've been watching Hugh doing promotional work for X2, that he's got long hair at the moment.

The buzz on this film is fantastic, and it's got the opening weekend that X2 got this year and Spiderman got when it was released stateside. I've got a feeling that this film will be huge and will launch Hugh Jackman into the stratosphere as an actor. If you think he's big now, just watch out! 🙂

L'il Pimp is kind of interesting. Originally it was a series of web cartoons, then one day they were inexplicably pulled from the internet. I have no idea why? The series had a strong cult following. All I know is, about the same time they disappeared, it was announced they were going to make a feature L'il Pimp movie. That was about a year ago.

I was looking at coming attrations somewhere, and saw L'il Pimp the movie is slated to come out in late summer of this year.

Van Helsing was the vampire hunter in Brahm Stoker's novel Dracula.

Not to rain on Keenangel's parade, but to me this new Van Helsing movie, the way it's described, looks like a bastardization of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
