What happened in Daddy's Girl

I know this is a week or so late but... this is what I think happened

When Jack first appeared he said he died and he died trying to save a little boy (He was a paramedic) which someone wanted dead. Maybe Tru's Mom had to try to save Jack and the Boy. But the person who wanted the boy dead was Tru's Dad he did that because he knew about Tru's Mom's power and he wanted her not to have it so he had to kill the boy to alter fate. Tru's Mom knew that if someone related to her saw her die they'd get the power. That's why she put Tru in the closet.... That's what I think! Hope to hear what you guys think too! Can't wait till next weeks episode! I read on one sit ethat Jack has some sinister intentions that he slips up.... dun Dun DUN!

I have been thinking about the power passing thing. Is it a hereditary (blood) thing or "chosen" thing? And, as you mention: how precisely does it pass? Not a bad theory, yours, that whoever sees the one die receives the power. Makes me REAL glad Meredith wasn't in that closet.
And when does the power manifest? You would think that, when Elise died, the power passed to Tru and she'd start experiencing "stuff" right away -- maybe not rewinds, but something. Pets that die and come back, or something. Tru for sure had the power at the funeral when her mother spoke to her. (Which, on a side note, must have been pretty cool for Elise to do "it" from the other perspective, that of the DB!) Now, anyone who develops these kinds of powers goes through a "dark night" of denial or hiding from the reality. Adolescence is like that anyway, lol, so it makes a certain amount of sense that Tru could get all the way through college without starting to rewind -- but it also raises questions.
Sorry, I'm always fascinated by back-story!
I do believe that Elise died saving Tru on a rewind day. I am beginning to suspect that Tru was intended to be the target, either solely or along with her mother. That would mean that Richard not only knew about Elise's ability but also that he knew Tru did/would have it as well!!! In the flashback from Daddy's Girl the killer wasn't too persistent in seeking out Tru when told she wasn't there, but maybe he didn't realize how important it was to his employer that they both be killed.
I think I have more to say . . . but I have to go to a meeting, ugh . . .

I like the idea about Tru being the one her mom had to save on the rewind day. Maybe she knew that she was the intended target and if she didn't die, the guy would just keep coming back and maybe kill Tru again, or Harrison or Meridith. That would explain why her mom knew that the guy was coming.

I'm not sure about Jack being part of it though. I think he will be important later on, but is unconnected at the moment.

What about Davis? He said he was working in the morgue when she was brought in, but that doesn't explain how he knew about the rewind days. I think either the writers have serious plot holes or, more likely, there is something he's not sharing.

I was re-watching the pilot yesterday, and I think I have a new theory as to how Tru got her powers. Each member of the family (it can be assumed) went up to the coffin to pay their respects, but her mom only spoke to Tru. I think that was when the power was transferred, because she hadn't had the chance to pass her gift along in her lifetime, so she had the opportunity to give it to Tru from beyond.

Also, Tru spoke to Meridith about it on front of her father, so there is a good chance he knew, or at least suspected Tru had the gift. That could also explain why the letter Carl (the murderer for hire) mentioned was to be sent to Tru and not her siblings: If he knew Tru had the gift, he might have been aprehensive around her, which Carl picked up on and used to his advantage.

I'm not sure how Jack got his gift, or when, but that will be a question for next season (now that we know there will be one : grinno : )
