What happened to Cordelia's soul, while Jasmine possessed her?

When Angel finds out that Cordelia's body was taken over by Jasmine, and Angel says "Where's Cordelia", so my question is... What happened to Cordy's soul? Was it in her body still just muted/trapped from giving Angel signs that something took her body?

I think all of Cordelia was still there. When she comes back briefly in "You're Welcome", she mentions to Angel that she "remembers everything", which kinda tells me she was there the whole time while Jasmine was doing things with her body?

The fact that she was still in her body the whole time while it's being violated, if that's true, makes the events of Season 4 especially terrible to me. That is the definition of helpless. 🙁

I guess the same thing that happened to Xander's soul while he was possessed by a hyena, and to Spike's soul while he was possessed by the First Evil. Possession is a very common theme is both BtVS and AtS, it seems, but the writers tend to stay none-specific about the memories business. It would feel seriously disturbing if Cordelia herself was present and silently screaming/or enjoying herself ? during all her scenes with Connor. Then again, its Whedon's show. At least the Dolls never remembered their assignations...

Only kidding (maybe). I agree that it was probably similar to when Xander was possessed by the Hyena. She knew what was happening and she could see it, but she was trapped. Or maybe her soul was "sleeping" like she wasn't active because Jasmine was controlling her body, but she was still present.

This is something I think about whenever someone gets possessed on t.v./in movies haha. Sometimes the character who is being possessed is able to communicate with people, so we know they're still in there. Isn't that what happened when that kid was possessed by that demon in season 1? Yeah I'm being slightly...vague 😉.

In my opinion, Cordy' soul was inside the whole time... Jasmine was just the driver. Creepy, I know.

I prefer to think Cordy wasn't there. It's the only way I could justify what the writer's did with her character. Actually, no I can't justify it. 🙁

In inside out Skip says "That thing is Cordelia. Or at least she's in there somewhere" and "Oh its her, she just ain't driving" so I'm going to take that to mean that Cordy was there, just unable to do anything.
