What happened to Giles' mark of Eyghon?

I was wondering what happened to giles'/ripper's tattoo(mark) of the mark of Eyghon. You can see that he has that mark on the inside of his left arm in the episode: "The Dark Age".
In that same episode Buffy gets the same mark on the back of her neck from Ethan. She explains near at the end of the episode that she's saving up to have it removed, but you never know what happened to Giles' mark. Later in he episode "Band Candy", you don't see it anymore though...Did he too have it removed and if so, why didn't he remove it sooner? Before Eyghon came to get him...

I suppose he might want to keep it to remind him never to tamper with those magics again, but the why doesn't it show up in later episodes when we see him in a T shirt or with his sleeves rolled up?

Did I discover a goof? 😛
 
I guess it is a goof. Unless he also removed his when Buffy did, just in case the demony thing came back.

Maybe he didnt know that the tattoo was what the demon looked for when it came after them, til after ethan marked Buffy and got rid of his.
 
no, Giles had his tattoo in 'Band Candy' you can see it when he rolled up his sleeves. ther's another ep, too, but it's escaping me right now.
i think it's just a goof by the writers...they forgot that it was supposed to be there.

You're right! I watched the Giles scenes again in Band candy and its visible here and there, I missed that before!

I will keep an extra eye out for his tattoo in following eppys anyway
 
Well if it vanishes later on in the series, it wouldn't be the fault of the writers, it would be the fault of the people who in actually in charge of continuity stuff on set and stuff.
