What happened to Miss Kitty Fantastico?

In one of my many attempts to call attention to Buffy on Facebook to my friends who can't get past the name of the show a friend asked "what ever happened to Miss Kitty Fantastico?" and I realised I have no idea!
Miss Kitty Disappearo?
 
That's what happens when you play with loaded crossbows, said by Dawn to Kennedy. Dawn was kinda sheepish when she said that. (keeping it in the animal family)

I think you'll find she was talking to Xander, it was just before he chloroformed her and tried to take her away from Sunnydale to get her out of harm's way.

"Xander, my crossbow is not here. I told you, I don't leave crossbows around all willy-nilly ... not since that time with Miss Kitty Fantastico"

Which implies to me that Miss Kitty almost shot someone with a crossbow that had been left around all willy-nilly, rather than MKF got shot, as Dawn would more likely have said "... what happened to Miss Kitty Fantastico" if the cat had shot herself.

You would, or maybe wouldnt, be surprised at how often you can shoot a cat with a crossbow and they still live. I honestly think that is where they get the phrase nine lives. They take a crossbow like nobodies business.

When I was 17, I accidentally shot my neighbours cat with an arrow, and she lived, so I'm not surprised.
 
I'm pretty sure the kitten's dead. 🙁

Small, cute, defenseless furry things probably don't last long in Sunnydale, and cats love to wander.

More of a dog person anyway. 😛

Oh my, how can I have totally blocked this piece of talk completely out of my head? (I never considered what happened to poor Miss Kitty Fantastico actually so maybe that's why...) But if she did get shot, that's horrible! If she did the shooting... well cats be cats ;P
 
I always took Dawn's comment to Xander as she left a loaded crossbow laying around a MKF shot herself.

Or maybe Spike used her as his ante in kitteh poker...
 
I always thought it was implied that Miss Kitty Fantastico was playing with a loaded crossbow that was just lying around. Poor Miss Kitty...but that'll teach you not to leave weapons out and about.

I remembered the scene in Potential where Dawn tell a potential the newspaper headline would read, 'crossbow accident claims teen'.
