Question What happened to Ted Buchanan?

Buffy says at the end of the episode that he's 'on the scrap heap'. To me, that meant they'd literally thrown him on a scrap heap in a junk yard as soon as they made sure he really was not coming back again.

Willow did say she kept a few parts because she "wanted to learn stuff." But other than that, I agree with Lyri.

I always thought that Willow probably kept the harddrive and a few other parts but then they melted him down and put him in the junk yard.

lol agreed, I don't think that Willow kept actual Ted parts 🙂
(in season 6-7 she might've considered that bu s2 Willow... I have a hard time seeing the Scoobies or her thinking of that as an okay thing to do)

Hmmm? Why not season 2 Willow? She was already into magic then, right?

I don't think she was pragmatic enough to do that then. She was a bit 'fuzzier' around the edges if you will, (lack of experience etc playing into this of course). Come s6 her character had evolved and she was far more ready to utilize whatever was beneficial for the cause. At least in my opinion. 🙂

We know she did keep pieces, but not which ones:

And the sad thing is, the real Ted must have been a genius. There were design features in that robot that predate--

BUFFY
Willow. Tell me you didn't keep any parts.

WILLOW
(guilty) Not any big ones...

BUFFY
Oh, Will, you're supposed to use your powers for good!

WILLOW
I just wanna learn stuff.

CORDELIA
Like how to build your own serial killer?

We know she did keep pieces, but not which ones:

But since he gave her upgrades, wouldn't it kind of make more sense if that was what she kept? I mean s2 Willow was computer savvy but building robots? Wasn't that a bit out of her league by then?

He gave her a single floppy disk with an upgrade to a computer program. I think that particular section of dialogue indicated pretty clearly that she kept robot parts. Just because she couldn't build it yet doesn't mean she wouldn't be interested. Like she said, she just wants to learn stuff.

I like my new nine-gig hard drive...

TED
But you don't love it, cause without the DMA upgrades your computer's really only half a rocket ship.

I have no idea what a DMA is, but that's what she was upgrading. XD
