And this used to be my favourite tipple! It really does explain it (comedically) well. Scarily accurate and also the reason why we have so many alcohol related crimes. 🙁

Horrible stuff. I think it should be banned as a public safety issue!

What's this, I used to buy a bottle a couple of times a year from Buckfastleigh. I think it comes under the heading of: It's an aquired taste.
Do you live near Buckfastleigh, if so have you ever been to Berry Pomeroy Castle near Totnes? I used to live not that far from there. As I used to be a bit of a ghost hunter it was a great place to live.

No, I don't live near Buckfastleigh, just in a place where this is a very common drink with a lot of fans. 🙂
It causes an awful lot of trouble here. Lots of people have been "bottled" with Buckfast bottles. Lots of football supporters here drink it prior to a game, and, well, you can guess the rest.

It's lethal! If it turned you into a ghost that would be cool.

Whenever I bought a bottle of that stuff I hid the bottle, in case anyone saw me with it. It never affected me, unless I drank to much of it then the old psychadelic yawn became evident.
I bet the monks who originally made it wouldn't be too impressed by it now.
