What he truly wants

I noticed something about Spike, a few weeks ago, but then forgot up till a few minutes ago. We have this bad ass vampire, who is incrediblely gorgeous, and who always seems not to care very much.
But(t XD)!

He is still William Pratt! Still a poet, who cries when he is upset(One of the reasons we love him <3 ).

Remember in the episode Gone, when Buffy asks him if it wasn't what he wanted... He started with "What I want.." and then got interrupted.

What does he want? Looking at the big picture, and his life and non-life it's clear!
Spike is seeking true love.
The whole package. Showing your feelings towards one-another, being honest, passionate, and just completely devoted to your partner. He wants it, more than anything.

He was utterly devoted to Drusilla, even though she cheated more than once, cos he loved her so much.
The Buffybot gave a glimpse of Spike in a "loving" relationship, and boy, was it gorgeous!
With Buffy, he was unhappy, and frustrated that she wouldn't acknowledge her feelings.

OK....Just some of my thoughts...what do you think? Feel free to disagree.
 
i always see him as a gentle (lol) im serious poet... even when he's violent etc he's just got heart. It's that he does care so much, and puts up a front.
 
Spike kinda fakes his whole persona to appear more tough than what he is , he is almost trying to prove himself killing a slayer trying to get away from beings a mummy boy hehe xxx
 
i'm glad you said it because i was thinking that too but i didnt say anything because i thought it was just something i missed.. ???
 
actually, i think its william platt? at least, thats what i heard 🙂. but i heard it here on BB, so i dont know the precise source 😛. i think it might be a comic or novel, but maybe its somewhere in the show that i cant think of.
 
i agree. i think spike was a passionate, expressive, and emotional human and he never stopped being that way even when he was turned. he's a romantic and i think true love and true, raw passion is all that he ultimately wants. (and i think he had it with buffy).

Spike's story before he appears in Sunnydale unfolds in flashbacks scattered among numerous episodes of both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. They are not presented in chronological order. The first flashback occurs in Buffy Season Five's "Fool for Love", and reveals that William was in fact an effete gentleman who lived in London, England with his mother Anne.[2] Anne would often sing the folksong "Early One Morning" to her son when he was a baby, right up until the time he was turned into a vampire.[3] William's surname is given as "Pratt" in the non-canon comic Old Times; however, Joss Whedon has not confirmed this, lending question to its canonicity.
