What if Buffy had been in a hell dimension?

I agree in that I don't think they knew that Buffy was in Heaven or even thought about it for that matter. I think they just thought about Angel when he came out of the hell dimension that he was sent to. Although they were not thinking about it too thoroughly - I think they had Buffy best interests at heart. And it might have been a selfish act - but if my friends wanted to pull me out of some place because they thought I was in danger of being tortured then they would be merited as being good friends.

When Buffy died she jumped through a portal. They weren't sure if that took her soul or if she died from the fall. The gang didn't even consider the possibility of heaven. They didn't think that far. It is understandable because they were grieving. Buffy was not only stripped away, but it changed their close group and impacted their purpose in life. All they could see was the empty space in front of them. That's why they were so deseperate to have her with them again. With a possible chance of having their best friend back, the scooby gang acted on impulses and let Willow use her power, saying they were bringing her back from hell when their actual reason was to have their lives the way they used to be, when they all had each other.

Here's a thought (yes I do have them from time to time).

The scoobies didn't consider that Buffy was in heaven because they knew that Glory was a hell god and trying to get back home. When Buffy jumped into the energy they had good reason to believe that her soul could have been take away through the doors opened to other fabrics of reality to a hell dimension much like, if not exactly the one that Glory was trying to return to.

Not that I excuse them for their actions. But also, what would a show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer be if they left her dead? 😀

Good point!!
I dont think they thought it through that much, if they had told Dawn she would of been well aware of it, form when the attempted to bring Joyce back. But as far as the scooby gang go, they just wanted her back, at any cost, and she was kinda werid when she came back!
Even if she was all animal like i think they could of gotten her back to normal, or gotten Angel to help out, as she did with him.

First off...

About Willow and Tara being so objective to Dawn resurrecting Joyce: did we forget the part where Willow pretty much hands the spell over to Dawn? I felt that Willow's selfishness was starting to become apparent there. She knew the consequences, and yet she was willing to risk having Joyce be a mindless zombie for a chance to have her pseudo-mother back.

This selfishness is even more evident with Buffy's resurrection. Part of me thinks she knew what she was doing, that she knew the possibility of Buffy going to a heaven dimension, but denied that to herself for something, in her mind, more favorable: Buffy's being tortured in Glory's hell dimension, we have to save her, we have to have her back. This gives her the reason she needs to coerce all the other Scoobies into doing the same thing; I don't think Willow is stupid enough to blindly manipulate the emotions of her friends to her own ends. I think she did it with a purpose.

I mean, of course, there were other ways around that. They could've gotten the Watcher's Council to LEGALLY get Faith out of jail, for keeps. I don't think Faith would have a problem with that, for the simple fact that SHE'S THE ONLY ONE. It's now her duty and hers alone. Also, I think she'd look at it as an alternate way of redemption, instead of being locked away and being of no use to ANYBODY.

I think that's all I had to add. Thank you, and goodnight.

Oh, and Faith didn't break out of jail because Angelus is big-scary and he'd kill a bunch people. That was an aftertought for her. Her main concern was helping him - he was the only person who believed in her, and she felt that it was her duty to believe in him when he needed her.

I think it was wrong of them to bring Buffy back wheteher or not she was in a hell dimension. But i guess they were desperate Dawn needed her sister and the scoobs needed their friend. Maybe they did think about how Buffy would be when she came back and I guess they figured she could pull through it if Angel could
