What if Buffy had "The Beast" instead of Angel?

He certainly would have been a greater adversary & created more problems for the gang. A few things would have to be altered but instead of being under Jasmine's control it would be under the First's. It would blot out the sun over the Sunnydale area so that the Turok Han could come out & kill so that they may eventually spread the darkness throughout the world. What do you guys think?

That would be great. Get rid of Caleb completely and have the Beast take his place, and making Sunnydale into a Mad Max environment for the characters. That's a good idea, orpheusxi.

Sounds great but I think the beast wouldn't prove too much of a problem for Buffy, she seems to be able to handle a few things that Angel can't and I personally think she's a much stronger fighter. That plot would have been awesome though and would have really made it difficult for the scoobies during the last season.

To be honest I think that the Beast would destroy Buffy. Angel and the others only lasted as long as they did because they were part of Jasmine's plan. Unless Buffy had the convenience of finding the Beast's Achilles heel then I can't see her standing a chance.

Well, the Beast is an awesome villian no matter where he is, but honestly his whole "blotting out the sun" plan had bigger effect in LA, where there are of course tons more people than Sunnydale. The only reason The First was such a big threat was because if Buffy couldn't defeat it, it would have spread beyond Sunnydale & overtaken the earth.

Nooo way! The Beast was a physical villain, the Scoobies would get crushed. I like to reference the awesomeness of Wesley, Angel, Gunn and Connor fighting The Beast in slow motion. I just don't see moments that awesome coming if they put The Beast on Buffy

Caleb was very physical too but the only difference is he was more chatty & had a bit more personality. Buffy & Faith would have lost big time, but at the same time I think this probably would have called for Willow to get into the fight as well. It would have made for an interesting way to force her to come to terms & gradually controlling her powers to fight for a greater good.

The more I think about it, the more I wish The Beast was a part of Season 7. It would have forced all of the characters to be on their A game and dig within themselves skills and strengths that put themselves to the ulimate test.

I think the Beast would have murdered them all xD. If the Beast wanted to he would have kicked down the front door and killed them easily. I think Willow could have found a way to send him back where he came from, but it's a slim chance.

I always wondered if Buffy would stand a chance against the Beast, maybe she could have done some damage with the Slayer Scythe. It's a great theory!
