so I know that there is a series of books about this but as much as i would like to- havn't read them.🙁 and I'm thinking of writing some short stories or fanfic about what would happen although I can't think of any good ideas! care to share? but please if you've read the dark willow novels don't give away anything!!!

Thanks very much!

If she was never stopped, than one girl in all the world on one day, in one little obscure town, at one little spot, would have managed to end the entire world... it is a little farfetched but I believe that is what would have happened, or atleast that is what she said would have happened? That is if Xander didn't stop her when he did.

Well, if *I* were going to write a dark willow story, I'd make it so that she tried to destroy the world in order to make the pain go away, but that it ended up backfiring. I'd make it so that the world could never really be destroyed, the point being that there really is no escape from pain. Instead of providing release, Willow's actions will have caused even more pain. That knowledge is what would keep her dark. It would probably end with her in some sort of magical catatonic state.

The key moment that Willow was really stopped at was when Xander approached her at the temple. According to Anya, her plans are as follows:

ANYA: [...] things just got a whole lot worse.
BUFFY: How worse?
ANYA: End of the world worse. Willow's going to destroy it.
DAWN: She can do that?
ANYA: She can and she will when she gets to where she's going.
BUFFY: Where's she going?
ANYA: Big old Satanic temple. Kingman's Bluff?
BUFFY: There's ... no temple on Kingman's Bluff. [...] Proserpexa? Who's she?
ANYA: Uh, way up there in the hierarchy of she-demons. Her followers intended to use her effigy to destroy the world. They all died when the temple got swallowed up in the big earthquake of '32.
BUFFY: So now seventy years later, Willow's going to make their dreams come true.
ANYA: She's going to drain the planet's life force, and funnel its energy through Proserpexa's effigy and, and burn the Earth to a cinder.
BUFFY: Not if I can help it.
ANYA: You can't. Something else Giles said. No magic or supernatural force can stop her.
BUFFY: What does that mean?
ANYA: Don't know. He, he said, "the Slayer can't stop her," and then he said a bunch of other stuff. He really wasn't too clear.

With that in mind, I think there are at least three conceivable roads to take.

  • [#]Willow is successful in turning the world in an ashpit, but somehow there are a few who survive. Your story could focus on them.
[#]Willow is succesful, but rather than burn up in a matter of minutes, the earth starts to burn near Sunnydale and it slowly spreads across the world in a matter of days/week/months even. It's up to Buffy and hers to reverse it.
[#]Willow fails. The temple is no longer usefull and she has to find another way to destroy the earth... which buys the scoobies some more time.

Continuing as we saw on screen there just isn't really anything you could do but have her kill Xander and flay the worlds livable surface to ashes.

The books are good enough, if you don't want to be spoiled I can't say how its done but they cover 3 months and it adds so much to the story, I don't see how you could surpass them, they're near enough a perfect depiction lol.

Yeah I had faith in Dark Willow, she well would have destroyed the world and everyone in it
