We all know of the lackluster episode I, Robot... You Jane and how horribly written it is.

Well, these are some ideas I have for my re-imagining of the episode.

- The episode would take place some time after season one, during maybe season 2-3

- Instead of having the villain be a Demon who is placed inside a computer, it would be Jesse's cousin Malcolm McNally who is a techno-path and is taking revenge on Xander after discovering that he (accidentally) killed Jesse

-Like in the original version of the episode, Malcolm is using Willow as a chance to get close to the Scoobies. Using the username 'Molok'

What do you guys think?

Yes, "I Robot...You Jane" is a terrible episode. I think they thought it sounded good and then when they went to film it and it just didn't work. I think the story you are trying to tell could have been a separate or replacement episode instead of a re-imagining. A re-imagining to me would be keeping the same basic plot with the demon but finding a better way to make it work. It is sad that Jesse is just forgotten. Also I don't think it would work outside of S1. For 1, the further away from the pilot episodes the less people will remember Jesse meaning it would have less of an impact on the audience. And 2, Willow meets Oz in the 2nd season so I don't see some other guy getting close to her that way. Especially not using the username 'Molok'. Willow knows enough about demons and the supernatural after s1 to not be suspicious about that.

I agree with Fuffy Baith, to keep the essential plot of IR...YJ, it needs to happen in s1 before Oz/Xander, and when Willow is greener about the whole demon thing. Really I like the idea of IR...YJ, it wasn't a bad idea at all, but it didn't translate well on screen. It was a pretty blatant metaphor for online predators (which is a cool idea considering that was in 1997), but it came off as a bit silly, especially since Willow is a smart girl AND she knows about the supernatural.

But I really like your idea of involving Jesse in this. I'm sad the guy was never brought up again. An episode in s1 where they bring back Jesse's death into a plot would have been great.

How about I place it after Some Assembly Required, and before Halloween?
