I think one or the other would have died. Spike was much more pragmatic than Angelus and didn't play with his food; Angelus would have turned Willow to mess with Buffy but I think Spike would have just killed her. So, either Willow ends up dead or Spike ends up pencilled.

He had a chance in "Lover's Walk." I think killing Willow, or turning her into a vampire, would have magically dissolved his plot armor, for sure. Forget Buffy, I'm imagining what Xander would have done to him!

The only reason Spike would not have been a bloody smear is because vampires do not leave smears.

I'm contemplating a much more serious question, had Spike's girlfriend got jealous over Spike being the sire of Willow and attacked Willow,

Or if the story was Spike escaping before the Initiative had the chance to put the chip in, I think he'd turn her. He doesn't have Dru, he'd be furious thinking Buffy had something to do with the Initiative, and he'd want to cause some serious damage.

If Spike had turned Willow, I rekon Willow would have been the one to take him out. She loves revenge, and certainly wasnt going to ride him like a pony at that point of the series. I think she would torment him with vampire witch spells and then slowly kill him to death for fun. Then she'd leave town. Far too smart to take on that Slayer.
Whichever she could get her hands on. I think both would be shocked by how powerful rage makes a.Slayer.
