What if Willow had completed the resurrection spell?

At that point, she was depending on the Urn of Osiris as a catalyst to make the resurrection spell work. Later, when Tara is killed, she doesn't need any urn to activate the spell, her chant is enough, and, when Osiris refuses to grant her wish, she is actually powerful, once more without any props, to punish him.
That brings us back to Giles' line - "There are other people who can do what you did, you just don't want to meet them." By the end of season 6, Willow becomes one of those people. Call me slow but I've only just picked up on that foreshadowing! I got it in the rest of the dialogue in that scene, but not that line 😀

Also what Aimee said at one point, "We have to work twice as hard to become half as good." Willow, in Season 6, and arguably in Season 7 as well, had no idea just how powerful she actually was, and she therefore had no way of keeping her magic under control. Everything that she did, before going to England and studying with the Coven, was like swatting a fly with a sledge hammer. Even after the witches there helped her, she still had to be careful not to overdo it.
