What if Willow were the slayer?

Willow is obviously a character a lot of people have a lot of strong opinions about. I think that's a good sign of a well written character, wheater you liked her or not she did stir up emotions. 🙂

I think she would've made a good slayer. I imagine her journey would've been different if she was the one that was called when she was in high school. I think she would've been stronger and more assertive faster. But I always think she had that in her, even when she didn't have any skills in magic, she always wanted to help and contribute in something that was really dangerous for her as a ordinary "mortal". I admire her for that. I also really don't think Willow was weak psychologically. Just because someone develope an addiction doesn't mean they aren't a strong person. Anyone of us could fall if the circumstances where such. And I think it shows tramendous strange that she managed to quit that addiction and even could get in to magic again without letting it over power her.

Some people keep mentioning that Willow wouldn't have the same physical prowess that Buffy has as a slayer, but I think we're forgetting that Buffy didn't have that until she became the slayer.

If Willow was then supposed to be the slayer, she would have all the physical abilities Buffy has.

We say that now because we're used to seeing Buffy as the slayer but we from what we've seen of Buffy before she was the Slayer, she was just a normal teen. She was forced to change when she became the slayer and if Willow had of been the slayer, I can't think of any reason as to why she would be any less able to adapt than Buffy was.
 
Willow would have been like Kendra, all book smart, highly trained and dedicated.

Might I add that Buffy freaked out and spent time in a mental institution after finding out about Vampires, whereas Willow and Xander just rolled with it.
 
Ok i do agree Willow was mentally strong when it came to Magic, But i just dont see her as a strong leader(like Buffy was) Willow just wasnt the type of person to be able to physically beat the likes of the Master or Glory. I like Willow, but that doesnt mean she's got it.

For some reason, I adore the thought of Fred being a slayer. 😀
 
I just wanna get a big group hug with Willow, Fred and Andrew. They're like a bunch of teddy bears.
 
If Willow were the Slayer she wouldn't have had the path she did. I don't think I'd love her as much. I loved her being the kooky sidekick.

Though she'd make a badass Slayer.
 
Yeah Willow was much better as a witch... although maybe Buffy learning some of Willows tricks would have been cool, and also practical, a couple of spells here and there could have made slaying easier.
