So, if you were in Hush, and everybody had lost their voice, how would you feel?

Would you be one of the talkative ones who would be completely lost?
Would you be the shy one who seems relatively more comfortable than usual in the silence? (I always had the feeling Tara was more «comfortable» in the silence, because she wasn't looking down, but up)
Would you be the one who somehow finds a way to vocaly communicate with a computer, Maggie-like?
Would you be the one who tries to communicate with little drawings representing your friends with large hips?

Just wondering about your speech comportement 😀

Great question first off.

If I'm honest with myself I have to admit I would be one that was lost. I enjoy telling stories way too much and can not even imagine going days without laughter.

Being a big talker, I'd be hysterical because of the non-talking. So I would try finding ways to express myself. Probably like they did with the white board.

But the biggest problem would be the horror of heart harvesting monsters out there, and not being able to yell for help. Reading about the missing hearts in the paper, I would have probably tried looking for ways to run out of town, even though they wouldn't let anyone in and out.

Taking the heart-harvesting gentlemen out of the scenario, I think I'd be fine with it. I'd probably be annoyed not being able to say something, but I'd figure out a way to communicate like the white board.

I'd be one of those writing on their little notepads or whiteboards or something. I couldn't be bothered trying to draw or use a computer. Actually, I think it'd take me quite a while to realise I couldn't talk. When I think about it, I spend a LOT of time in silence during the day, so I think I'd probably wonder what everyone was doing xD Unless perhaps at the start of the day I was with my friends, or perhaps playing a video game because I shout like crazy at those things.

First thing I'd do is run to friends or family. I would sure as hell not be sitting alone in creepy times like that.

But overall I don't think I'd mind that much. I mean it would be really annoying, but I tend to 'word vomit' alot, so I'd probably get my point across clearer in writing than going "slasjakdhck" 😛

I'd be the person who gets chased down by the gentlemen and their little straight-jacket pals, then gets my heart cut out while they smile their creepy smiles.

For a short while anyways, I think it would be pretty fun. I would play charades all day...

I'd carry a whiteboard around all the time, or mime things out aggressively. I enjoy talking and laughing, so it'd definitely be an adjustment but I wouldn't freak out per se. I used to get really bad week-long laryngitis every year at the end of winter, and while it's annoying as hell not being able to talk you figure out ways around it eventually.

I said in my earlier post that I'd probably be fine. Especially since I refuse to answer my door since I'm always afraid of who may be out there. haha.

But I realized that I do spend A LOT of time talking to my animals. Just small random things and I'd probably miss that. Since they respond in such fun ways.

That would be all. Other than that . . . totally cool. 😀

And actually, thinking of that. Would my dogs be able to bark?

Would my cat be unable to meow? Because he is the most vocal cat EVER and that would be AWESOME!!!! Just a few days of silence. . .

LOL :D
I'd probably be ok. I can spend days/weeks at a time not talking to anyone except chatting in IRC. So as long as I have that, I'd be fine.

(laughing) at the "friends with large hips". I'd be in that category, I think... trying to communicate with pictures and words...but my friends would all be stick figures cause that's pretty much all I can draw.

haha yeah! I would be the new "Gentleman", scourge of mankind! :D
Other than here on the internet, I am a very introverted, solitary person (NOT broodie like Angel, but rather "meditative") so the being able to talk would be more of an inconvenience than any great loss.

And just as a side note, while I am a very solitary, meditative person, I am also a very well armed person, so if the Gentlemen and their minions had come looking for my heart, they would have left picking OO buckshot out of their hides.

I don't really care about being able to speak out loud. I don't speak often as it is. As long as I could text, I'd be fine being mute for a period of time. I'm sure it'd get tiresome to type everything out though after a while.

I would be the quiet one who does not leave the house and has the doors locked. Since we have cell phones wouldn't be much of a problem.
