What is Buffy?

Hi, what kind of show would you say Buffy is? soap, drama, melodrama, arc etc.... or maybe even all of that?

How about teen/young adult-horror-fantasy-comedy-drama with a bit of post-modernism thrown in for good measure...I think that about sums the show up🙂

(I'm not sure about the post-modernism btw - I've never been entirely sure what it means exactly, but it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, don't it? Plus, being in my forties, perhaps the teen/young adult bit is wrong too - although I am still young at heart😉)

I don't know, it's always had a bit of everything really - Drama, Comedy, Action, Angst, Romance and Horror. It can't be catogorised as just one... can it?

LOL-I always thought of it as kinda genreless-lacking in genre-without the ability to be caged by type...but maybe that's just me 😀

I've never been able to really catogorize the show, personally. Maybe individaual episodes, but the show as a whole encompasses aspects of just about every genre there is...

... I know that at my local video store, they had a really difficult time trying to figure out where to put the videos... They put them in comedy. I don't know how I feel about that as the most obvious genre.

It's a lot of things but I'd say that Fantasy/Drama sounds pretty good. 🙂 Jack of all trades sounds about right really...but hey...

I think that the BBC classifies it as a Cult/ Fantasy Drama but im not sure about the cult part. i think that its Fantasy - drama! ^_^

Oh god, it is so by far a soap operah! I mean the one night stands, the heart break, the death! it is a teenage soap operah.But of course i still love it! And It in spired me to Write my own soap operah based on my school. In fact if any one would like to get my show, i would be happy to send it to you! just send me a personal message, saying you would like to view it. It is full of true life soapy events, and witty commercials. Of course i am probably being a little dramatic.
