I didn't say Buffy wasn't justified in killing those people. But she did. Accidentally or on purpose, justified or not, Buffy has killed possibly more than a dozen people.

There's also Caleb. Who, again, totally deserved it.

But you made it sound like she was being a hypocrite or self righteous for being against killing even though she has never judged someone for killing in self defence and has only ever killed in self defence and the defence of others.

She didn't judge Faith for accidentally killing Alan Finch. She tried to help her cope with the guilt and said they should tell Giles. It was Faith who judged herself and assumed everyone thought of her differently.

She didn't judge anyone for killing Bringers, who were human, knife wielding agents of The First Evil.

She was against Willow & Wood trying to revenge kill people. Willow didn't think he deserved to be tortured to death until it was Tara who got in his misogynistic path. He'd already killed Katrina and tried to break and kill Buffy for seven months but to Willow, thats par for the course since her best friend is The Slayer. Wood wanted to fight & kill the monster who killed his mom. It's all he talked about during the fight and why he chose to activate the trigger. It had nothing to do with protecting the Potentials. So it made it like AtS s3 with Holtz going after Angel.

Well, Willow only learned about Katrina when she read Warren's mind right before killing him and Buffy never considered Warren to be a serious threat. I like to think Willow killed Warren partly on behalf of Katrina.

Buffy knew since Dead Things (5 months earlier) that Warren killed Katrina and told the group. She just didn't have proof and the group is notorious for not really believing Buffy when she says her instincts/gut/spidey-sense/reasoning is telling her what's going on. So in Villains when Willow was like "She (Tara) wasn't the first girl you've killed, reveal" she was could be genuinely surprised.

I don't think it is right to say the group didn't believe her. There just seems to be a jarring lack of interest from all parties to investigate further. They are all too busy being depressed, planning their weddings and getting back with Tara.

I don't think it was like "Why listen to Buffy? That silly girl. Short people get confused and dyed hair messes with the brain." But almost every time, going back to s1, Buffy stated what the villain is doing or that something weird happened, they have their doubts and wonder if she is just jumping to conclusions, needing to see something where there's nothing, or think it's just her emotional state. Ms French (I think Willow believed her?). Hynea possession. Ted. Dar Kindestod (Willow believed her). Kathy. The earthquake. Jonathan's augmenting spell. The vineyard.

Willow at least came through the most in believing her. Giles came through the most in understanding her psychological state (until PodGiles).

But yeah, they all dropped the ball on Katrina. Buffy, you had a weird Sex Spike Kill Katrina Sex Katrina Kill Spike dream, don't ignore her now.

But she was the Trio's main target all season so I can see her not investigating it. They messed with her sanity "which was pre-messed already."

Dawn. Once she came into the picture the entire dynamic of the show changed.
I'm dissing on Dawn the character. I don't care for her, but this is more about what she represents. She represents changing the entire feel of the show.
Once she appeared, it was just like on tragedy piled on top of another until their was nothing left.
Also without Dawn, Buffy does not need to be brought back from heaven bc she wouldn't have jumped in the portal in the first place.

Plus Dawn's screeching is just absolutely horrible

Hard to name just one thing. I am late to the party and only got into BTVS this past year. So I have not come close to see everything there is to see. When I start new shows, I tend to skip around. lol

I LOVE the first 3 seasons. But after that, there's a lot of changes I didn't care for from what I am seeing of them..
1. Tara. Don't dislike her. But from the little i've seen, she doesn't interest me and I preferred Oz.
2. Dawn, also doesn't seem like an appealing character
3. I hated Angel leaving
4. I didn't like that Joyce got killed off
5. I didn't care for Spike becoming a regular cast member, and turning into a Buffy fanboy & stalker.
6. And I hate Spuffy with the fire of 10 suns. I think that pairing was the downfall and destruction of both their characters.
7. I hated how heartless and holier-than-thou Buffy was in season 7, in addition to her automatically always siding with Spike and even kicking her father figure to the curb in favor of him, after everything he's done for her.
8. How everyone ganged up on Buffy after she came home from running away. And they harass her to the point she's in tears, and only think about how her leaving effects them, and not how lost & upset she had to have been to leave. Then they all snub her and act very passive aggressive when she is back, then have the nerve to get pissed off when she decides to try and leave again.Xander was the aboslute worst one in this scenario, followed by Joyce.
9. Again, Xander could show his absolute worst & most petty side when it came to Angel. Especially his lying to Buffy about what Willow said, and her having to kill him because she wasn't kept in the loop about his soul returning. Then after she runs away, Xander says she hopped a bus over boy trouble, when killing her boyfriend & sending him to Hell is FAR from juat boy trouble. His behavior in Revelations was especially sickening. By blabbing about Angel to Faith, he caused the rift with her & Faith. Never-mind he's dating Cordy, and cheating on her with Willow, but has time to judge Buffy over helping Angel, who hasn't caused any harm since he's been back since they didn't even know about him. Honestly, I think Xander eeded to get the snot beaten out of him on occasion. He was NOT the best friend to Buffy, especially when it's out of jealousy because she won't date him.

Hmmmm. The first 6 don't make me sound great. But sadly, the show just goes downhill for me once season 3 ended. If I have to pick an absolute worst out of this list, it has to be 6. Spuffy. Followed by Xander.

Your feelings on Spuffy and Xander mimic exactly how I feel. Thank you for wording it so perfectly that now I don't have to explain those.

Its all relative in my opinion. Different events meant different things. The attempted rape and Joyce's death, I mean, how can you compare? I voted for when Angelus belittled Buffy after they made love. Probably not the worst but it made for the best TV unfortunately.
